I've been looking at those mold-your-own-dildo kits, because something I've been wanting to try for a while now is making a dildo from my SO's cock. Searching the Internet, I found these kits were available:
http://www.createamate.com
http://www.makeyourowndildo.com
http://www.liquid-latex.com/prod08.htm (create a cock)

And this company, who will make a high-quality silicone dildo for you after you make the mold and send it to them: http://www.morningwoodlabs.com/czone/products.htm (manhood mold)

I was wondering, has anyone ever tried any of these kits? How hard was it (no pun intended)? How did the finished product turn out? Was it worth it? These kits cost as much or more than a silicone dildo, so I would hope they'd make a dildo at least almost as nice.

Sorry I thought I read "Make your own Phildo"

I know they have kits that are not so expensive they sell in stores for the purpose of making hands, also other parts. I was not aware of the send your mold in and they make it for you.

Interesting sites I like the big coffee cup in the last link. I can't say I never thought about making myself into a dildo, but for real I never have. I would like to make one just for the bar great coversation piece.

I'll be checking back to see what others say.

I'm intending the pun...

I want to know how hard it is to stay hard... really, I do!
I've thought many times about this but I'm too worried that it would be too hard for the SO to stay that way for however long they expect you to sit there and let the mold harden. But ooh, for deployments... that would be SOOOOOO nice.

This so reminds me of the plaster caster lady of rocklore. I think I saw her on VH1 once. She has like cock molds of over 50 rock stars including Jimmi Hendrix.

I did this years ago sans kit. I used a molding product from a hobby shop (white powder you mix w/water).

It was tricky timing-wise, the warmer/cooler the water the faster/slower it would set. You need fast enough to maintain the erection, but slow enough to make it in!

Stayin hard was tricky too, even using a cock ring, I'd go soft too soon, ejaculated once (which ended up embedded in the clear dildo--cool), bumped the side of the container, etc...

The mold also shrinks as it hardens/dries. This results in a larger dildo--cool!

I used clear resin for the dildo (from a 'crystal cast' kit designed to suspend coins and whatnot in a clear plastic shape for display). The problem was the mold material dispersed the heat required to cure the resin. A quick call to the company (yeah, I'm molding my finger, right...) revealed that final curing could be done in an oven set to low with the door cracked open.

I embedded a d-ring in the base to be able to handle it.

The major downside was the inability to achieve decent length and all the attempts to achieve satisfactory results.

Does that answer all the questions? The result was accurate if larger overall and rigid/rock-hard (which everyone's appreciated).

Going off the resin and mold idea. Why not take self hardening clay. Form it into the length, and shape of the dildo around it, and than make a mold of it? That way you wont get blue balled or start to cramp from trying to stay hard for so long.

A site I really like is blowfish.com and I think they sell such a kit. I like them because they are very competetively priced and they have a staff who actually tries out all the products the sell.

I actually made two on my own without any kit. its pretty easy and you just need the right material.

Here are some pictures:

I not used a kit, but made it myself. The bad thing is that it is plaster, so its not really useable, but for decoration :D
I could make a latex negative of the plaster cock and fill it with e.g. silicone.
Here is a short description i wrote in a personal message for someone.

The best material for the mold (the negative) is "Algin". It is a bit hard to get, as its normally only used by dentists to make imprits of teeth. Its a good material as it hardens fast (1-2 mins, no need for 10 min errections without stimulation) and it doesnt irritate the skin (normally used IN the mouth).
When you have it just mix it with water (maybe an assistent/girlfriend can do this, as you need to have an errection, as soon as its ready) and put it in a form roughly the size of your penis. I used one of this big tubes for pictures and cut it in half lengthwise.
Then just put your willy in and let it harden (the "Algin" ). Once this is done u can use this form to cast a replica with the material of your choice. I used plaster, as its cheap and I can use it as a starting point for further replicas.
Take care the "Algin" (as its algae) is very unstable. It dries up fast. So make your plaster cast soon after its hardend.

Here is the actual brand of the material i used: tricolor algin NF produced by Müller-Dental GmbH
But it is a german brand, so if you are not from good ole europe you might have to find something similar.

I hope you understood all, as english isnt my native language and I was helpfull to you.

Cheers Pii

This all sounds a little hi-tech. :) I made one for myself many years ago using a few common household items. I.e., a plastic yeast-medication applicator, some scraps of foam rubber, cotton embroidery floss, and a condom.

The applicator was the spine and provided a handle. The foam rubber I sewed on as a sleeve with the floss (thin thread would have torn through the foam). I added a head to the top of the sleeve and contoured it with big stitches, then dressed the whole thing with the condom. All you have to do is renew the condom when necessary.

These all sound like too much work for the dildo-making-challenged. I prefer to purchase mine at a store and although the variety is limited, I won't stop looking for my own personal artist.
