Do you have anything that you've dreamed of doing, but that you haven't yet done? Something bold? Could you make it happen this year? Why or why not?

My dream is to live in Asia for a few months and I am lining up the necessary components to make it happen.

So many things I would like to make happen and slowly I am working towards them.

1. A job in the UK that allows me to work with people face-to-face again, either using my current skills or not.

2. Meeting people in Denmark and developing a a network of people to talk to when I am over there.

3. Continuing to develop a friendship with my son.

4. Spending next new years Eve with him, in his bed or surrounded by his family (not both lol) instead of on the phone to each other at midnight.

1. I send out numerous job applications so far I get no reply, am too old, too overqualified or not qualified in that field. Updating my own business website to try and generate more business

2. I have joined groups online that are aimed at non danish living in Denmark.

3. We speak and I don't nag him (even though I sometimes need to tape my mouth shut!!)

4. Waiting until December next year to make this possible.

Working slowly working towards towards each goal

Same goal I have every year.

Lose weight!

I swear I'm going to do it this time..

I'm impressed. You sound very focused. I think being able to tolerate slow progress is important in these matters. I tend to get a little frustrated if I can't find instant gratification.

Why do you want to lose weight? Maybe the reason why you never do it is because you don't really want to. Just a thought, you know?

Feel free to add me to that network!

Oh, no. I want to. I have for years because I'm unhappy with my body, but can never seem to get up the motivation/courage to actually go through with it.

I've told myself I was going to lose weight for 12 years now. xP

Don't be impressed.

He has to listen to me as I work my head around this confusion. It looks better written down, than the slow reality it really is.

I have little patience. A work friend once said that as soon as I have an idea I want it done yesterday *sigh* she was/is probably right lol

Motivation is a hard one to find.

I would like to be fitter but have no motivation to achieve it.

I hope you find it within yourself, and that this year it works for you

My goal is the same as last year: As soon as I sell my home I'm going to quit my job, build an RV and start traveling around the country taking pictures. I'll drive and camp for a year or two, then settle down somewhere and open a small gallery/studio and hopefully make enough of a living that I won't have to work a real job ever again.

I intend to take part of the money I make from the sale of the house and put it aside for the gallery after the trip is over. I'll travel until the remainder of the money is gone (or I'm tired of driving) and then pick one of the cities or towns that I've seen along the way and make it my new home.

This would have happened this year, but the real estate market cooled and my home has been for sale since April. It's frustrating having these plans that I'm fully ready to implement but having to wait for external forces to pull the trigger.

Though heaven only knows that I can understand being unhappy with one's body, I wonder if after 12 years it might not be time to try a new approach? :)

Or, to put it another way, perhaps being unhappy and critical of oneself is not a sufficient motivation to make the changes necessary to lose weight.

Just a thought. In any case, good luck to you.
