Why must I see their phantom trail at all? Why aren't they gone gone?

If you put someone on Ignore you won't see any thread they start, you won't see any of their posts, and you'll only see their account name if someone else reposts something they've posted - but you won't see anything they've written unless you choose to. It's almost a total expulsion from your forum feed, but not 100% percent. Sometimes a thread will have a note down the bottom that there's ignored content, but you don't know who it is. That's the best you'll get.

Agreed. And also make it block them from seeing you. Ignoring someone for being a creep but them still being able to creep on you is very frustrating.

I guess because of some amendment about free speech. What you’re pushing for is ICE knocking on their door and taking them to Guatemala. 
I used to wish we could hide an entire forum ( I believe there is a way ) but those a’holes are no more than a fly bashing again a window. Chances are everyone else knows they’re an a’hole and already has them on iggy.
A while ago I did an experiment and acted sympathetically to one of my trolls - being kind to them and they basically curled up in a heap. They can’t deal with kindness - a bit like a chained up dog.
