I posted my first thread in Sexual Role Playing, and got no replies. So, I'm curious if there are tips and tricks that other people use to attract role players to their threads. I'm open for feedback, and I'm also open for feedback on my first post, which I will post below.

Thanks All

He was a, a small town banker. He locked up every day at five ten, walked to his banker spot, and drove his Cadillac home. Today, when he locked the door, he was greeted with the site of a bombshell, a Bettie Davis, a Marilyn Monroe, a woman who was thin from the hips to the tits, and everywhere else voluptuously stacked. Why did she catch his eye? He had never seen her before, and it was rare that he met someone new here. But she had a shimmering, glowing quality that he couldn't quite place. She winked at him. He winked back. Again out of the ordinary, this was not behavior suiting an upright citizen of his ilk. But damn if he didn't sport wood six or seven times during the day, helping beautiful women with their investments, so happy to use his skills to get them what they needed. But, there was the issue of his prick. She sashayed ever and ever closer, resplendent in a tight black dress with ruffled sleeves that looked like lovely black roses. She was wearing a small hat, perched there near her forehead, fluffed up with brown feathers. Her neck was adorned with a string of pearls, and it seemed like she should have a cigarette holder a la Audrey Hepburn meets Marilyn Monroe in a blaze of bosomy flame. She had a bubble tea, and the way she purposefully drank the tapioca up the straw prompted him to speak. "Hello, I've never seen you before. Are you new in town?" he said, standing there in a white-banded fedora and double-breasted, black, pin stripe suit. He was not wider than Jimmy Stewart, but looked enough like him that he could pull of that look. He knew he could pull it off, and he lived that look, wearing high waisted khakis and linen shirts for recreation, and only wearing a white undershirt when he did wear a tee shirt, which was rare. "If you have nothing else to do I could show you around." He pointed proudly at his 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood, a beautiful, black, tailfinned car.

You may not have gotten replies/participants because your post is rather hard to read for a variety of reasons. It contains quite a few typos and grammatical errors; that tends to turn a lot of members of this site off. Additionally, some of the phrasing is odd (e.g. "upright citizen" instead of "upstanding citizen") and there are no breaks in the wall o' text.

It could also be that the SRP'ers are having trouble relating to your scenario and/or aren't all that interested in expounding on it.

Did you read and follow the guidelines in the RP/SRP sticky thread(s)? Maybe take another look to be sure you're following the SRP conventions and do a heavy edit on your post to make it more appealing to others. Failing that, start a new thread with a scenario that more people are likely to be enticed by. Look at some of the popular SRP thread topics to get some ideas on what that section of the membership tends to value. Don't copy, but perhaps you can get some inspiration regarding typically preferred topics and genres.

I hope that helps. Good luck with your SRP experiences!

Rereading, I'm also confused about the era your post is set in. You make a lot of references to popular people and items from eras gone by, yet you also refer to things like bubble tea, which are much more recent/current. Is your scenario set in like the '60s, or much closer to today?

SweetErika you make a number of good points. I can see how the era is confusing, and the wall of text problem, and typos as well. I will take a good look at the stickies and try again.

Thanks
