Introduction

"Fucking massscot!" The gleaming smile on the pitch black face hissed, "Sssshow you your placcccce."

Challenger's composure had left the veteran vigilante what seemed like years ago, but what the fibers of sanity remaining said could have only been a few hours. He knew for a fact that he had been subjected to quadruple amputation, and his eyelids had been removed. He was fairly certain that he had been castrated as well, if only to go along with this psychotic sadist thing. Despite the mind-blowing trauma and sheer suffering, he still clung to hope, his teammates the Sons of Justice would surely free him and perhaps he could continue life as a cyborg, unless perhaps one of his friends knew some Maj with super healing powers...

"No Challenger, there will be no intervention for you, You will die here alone, and unsssssung. A fitting end for a posssturing human. Through death you will learn your placccce!"

Challenger barely had time to register that his captor was a telepath before the anathestic wore off. His screams would have woken the dead, if he were a Maj perhaps. But the bodies of his fellow Sons of Justice did not budge.

Background Information

The super heroes and crimefighters of the Golden Age would barely recognize their inheritors. Fighting for publicity and endorsment opportunities. Where once selfless heroes had selflessly battled against crime and tyrrany across the world, now this gifted few worked as corperate lackeys and government spooks taking up the clandestine causes of their employers to crush opposition to a creeping world wide facism, beating the stuffing out of the disadvantaged to get good press reviews. Are there any real heroes left in this dystopia?

Classes of Heroes

Human: Purely human crimefighters, gifted perhaps with higher than average strength or intelligence. Human class heroes are your highly trained operatives, armed with wits, martial arts, and minimal gadgetry. They are detectives, explorerers, vigilantes, and inventors.

Human-Advanced: Something sets these humans above even other "ordinary" vigilantes. Perhaps it is an advanced suit of mechanical armor, a drug that endows a strange and wonderful power, or a mastery of mystical arts.

Post Human: Humans born with extraordinary powers, sometimes called mutants. Post Human powers tend to be limited in scope but still amazing compared to ordinary humans. Their powers come from evolutionary advancment so they tend to originate within the body. Mutants don't shoot red hot lasers from their eyes or conjure monsters out of thin air. They tend to have powers such as Telepathy, Telekinesis, and Super Strength. Powers that can easily be explained as coming from evolutionarily superior minds and bodies.

Superhuman: Humans or Post-Humans subjected to bizarre events that act as catalysts to endow them with incredible powers, or increase existing post-human abilities. Exposure to the radiation of a celestial phenomena, alien intervention and alteration, contact with mystical relics, surviving an explosion of rare chemicals or a lightning strike are just a few of the methods in which superhumans are created. Superhumans have incredible powers such as Flight, Super-Speed, X-Ray Vision, Invulnerability, the ability to transform into other shapes, super stretchiness, these are but a small sample of available powers. Most superhumans have only one power or several narrowly defined powers following a very niched "theme".

Gamma Class: Superhumans in the Gamma Class usually have two or three distinct superpowers. The power of flight is the most common power shared by Gamma Class heroes.

Beta Class: Superhumans in Beta have between four and six powers. Almost all Beta Class heroes can fly, in addition many have Super Strength as well.

Alpha Class: Amongst the most powerful heroes in the world. Alpha class heroes have between seven and ten powers. All Alpha Class heroes can fly and have super strength, in addition most have partial invulnerability such as having bulletproof skin or being flame retardant.

Majestic Class: Beings of such incredible power, they can only possibly serve others out of stupidity, loyalty, or lack of ambition because most of these beings have enough powers to change the world. Many Majestic class heroes can fly or run around the world in a matter of minutes if not seconds. Some can juggle aircraft carriers without breaking a sweat, and others are tough enough to have to fly within spitting distance to the sun before they start to get tanned. Majestic class heroes usually don't bother with ordinary street crime, even the activities of large crime families don't attract their attention. At the very least they concern themselves with global terror networks, most find themselves battling invasions both mystical and extraterrestrial. Beings of such power shrug off most anything thrown at them but may have a special, often secret weakness from the mystical (vulnerability to silver or holy symbols) , weird science (exposure to a special type of radiation or drug), and even the mundane (you can shrug off tank shells and even nuclear strikes but you call in sick with the flu).

Sorry it's been so long since I said I would post more but I've been in the hospital with bronchitis or however the hell its spelled. I'm a billion different meds and I have to breathe from some glorified motorized bong every six hours or so. I'll finish this when I feel a little better.
