1712, AD, France. The homeland of the Rennesancé. The city of light, one of the greatest powers in Europe, a truly mighty empire, with colonies in both the southern continent of Africa, the Far East, and the New World. A city of enlightenement, a city of science, art, litterature. A city of liberties. A city where anyone could find their heart's delight. From a cheap down-town whore, to the highly expensive courtesans of the nobles. A city long since freed from the tyranny of superstition.
And yet, somewhere within the vast sprawl of the city of Paris, there was someone bent on destroying all which the Rennesancé had brought, and bring back the superstition of the past. Indeed, this person was plotting far more than just sending the city of Paris back into the dark ages. For this person was in possession of dark, forbidden knowledge. Knowledge which was fiercely guarded, knowledge locked away from prying eyes and mortal minds. How this person had obtained the knowledge was a mystery. But their goal, oh their goal was all too clear.
For thousands of years, the Human race has been aware of a world beyond their own, known by many names. The Fay, Valhalla, Shangri La, Hades, Gehenna, and most recently: Heaven and Hell. And for an equal amount of time, there have been creatures that have crossed over from this other world, into the mortal world in which we dwell, to help, to inspire, to guide, but also to entice, destroy, rape, and wreak chaos. But as the years progressed, and the Human understanding of the Otherworld grew, so did their powers against it. Eventually, this lead to the founding of the Order.
The Order's first and foremost goal is to safeguard Humanity from the perils of the Otherworld. To do this, they seek out the creatures which pass over from the Otherworld to that of the Mortal world, and defeat them. But also to collect and root out hard fact and evidence on the Otherworld, it's denizens, and how to contact it. But as time grew on, it was clear that part of the Order's goal was a failure: To keep Humans away from the Otherworld.
For some reason, the Otherworld allways managed to reach out to certain people. Maybe they were born with a gift to see into the world where no Human should ever know, maybe the Otherworld itself was concious. There was no way to tell. But the taint of the Otherworld -allways- returned to plague the world.
To counter this, the Order divided itself in two. The Fraternity, whom would devote themselves to combatting the Otherworld and it's denizens directly, and the Sisterhood, with it's Five Schools, to eliminate those in the Mortal World whom manages contact with the Otherworld, and seeks to ruin the balance.
And now, with one such person located within Paris, the Sisterhood has sent two of it's operatives, each trained in different Schools, to track, and destroy the Taint in Paris.

Skadi
Training: Sororitas Malleus, Adeptus Arcana
Apperance: Lean, tall, girlish in figure, and dark-haired, Skadi would have been considered a beauty by many, if not for the disturbing silver colour of her eyes. Her soft and gentle face is often twisted into a grim expression, or one of innocent curiosity.
Her ample chest is hidden underneath the customized armour and clothes of the Sororitas Malleus, all blacks and silvers, which goes well with her skin. If the form-hugging and vaguely erotic design of the armour is a concious choice, is unknown, though at times, one can almost glimpse bits of delicious skin underneath the wrappings of clothes.
The clear, crystaline, orbs on her gauntlets can sometimes also be seen glowing. Silvery blue if she channels the powers of the Arcana, and a dark red, with swirls of black, if channeling the powers of her inner Demon.
Personality: Skadi is often considered to be a maveric and reckless. Once sent on a hunt, she will remain locked on her target, going to any lenghts to eliminate her objective, often caring little about stealth, subtlety, or anyone whom might be caught in the cross-fire.
That is not to say she isn’t dispassionate or carefree. Indeed, she is fiercely loyal to the Order for having raised her, and the Sisterhood for having trained her, and given her power. On more than one occasion, she has been known to risk the success of a mission to rescue a fellow Sister in need, and has been known to have been romantically involved with at least two members of the Sisterhood in the past.
History: Like many of the Sisters whom joins the Order, Skadi is an orphan, delivered to one of the Order’s many orphanages located throughout Europe. There she was raised, fed the Order’s strictures, propaganda, and beliefs as she grew from a young child, into a young woman.
At the age of thirteen, she was sent from the Orphanage to a stronghold of the Order, where she began training, learning how to fight, speak in many different languages, the sciences that governs the world, how to seduce members of the same and the opposite sex, the secrets of the Veil and the world beyond, and how to recognize those in this world influenced by it’s immense powers.
An adept learner, Skadi had allways relished challenges, and the Order did just that. Challenge her. Each round of combat training threatening to be her last. They pushed her, physically, and mentally, until she could be pushed no further. Then, she was to choose. To pick which of the Five Schools of the Sisterhood she would follow. The Sororitas Puirtas; which relished combat and physical perfection above all else. The Sororitas Arcana; the keepers of arcane knowledge, and wielders of immense magic. The Sororitas Eros; the seducers, using their bodies and charms to take them where no magic, guile, nor stealth could bring others to reach their targets. The Sororitas Illuminati: The Guardians of Knowledge and Science, the ones whom prefer to use the advancements in technology to defeat their enemies and eliminate the targets of the Order. Or the Sororitas Malleus; The Demon-Bound sisters, the one whom fights an eternal battle within themselves to maintain the balance for their mind and soul, just as they use their demonic powers to preserve the Balance between this world and the next.
In the end, it was no choice for Skadi. She made her choice, and after three harrowing nights of rituals, chants, magic, and many a scream later, she emerged a member of the Sororitas Malleus. Demon-Bound.
Demon: From the writings of Chronicler Arbdulus Il-Peth - “This Demon, as depicted here, is known to the Archives of the Order only as Ne’thariffitha, first observed in the land of Egypt, during the reign of the Pharoes, possessing a female member of the Egyptian nobility, and threatening to open a gateway from Egypt to the Otherworld. While capable of immense physical prowess, and in possession of all the powers of your average Demoness (see “Demoness” in the Codex Malleus for more information), Ne’thariffitha also displayed an ability to inflame Desires within the souls of Men and Women. I speak not of pure carnal lust, as many seem to think that is all a Demoness desires, and while this is often more true than not, a Demoness with the ability to inflare Desires is far more dangerous. She will appeal to your greatest desire. Be it carnal pleasures, power, wealth, or a funny hat. And she will strike deals to grant you your Desire, but allways in return for a cost far, far, too great. In the end, the Demon was sealed by members of our Order, but not without several losses on our end as well. I pity whomever shall be bonded to this vile creature in the distant future.”

Frowning, Skadi looked down upon the city of Paris, the countless dots of lights lighting up the night sky, and giving the residents below a feeling of security and comfort. At some level in the Human psyché, they all still remembered that once, there had been deadly things that went bump in the night.
Shaking her head, and sending dark hair flying, the Assassin of the Order mused at how ironic it was for her Target to hide here, in the city of enlightenement, while seeking to plunge the world back into darkness and chaos. Still, none of that mattered to her. Nothing mattered, except finding, and destroying her Target.
As she closes her eyes to communicate to the being locked within her, she shudders, fighting against it's wiles to remain in controll of her own mind.
<So, you come to beg for my powers once more, child? Why should I heed your call this time? Hmm? What could you possibly offer me, that I can not take for myself?>
While she could never truly -see- the Demon locked within her, she could feel it's amusement, she could almost feel the grin streching over it's face. Like allways, it sought to toy with her, to make her uneasy, to find a gap in which to use for her escape, to take controll.
<You will be silent, and lend me your powers, Demon, as you know you must, if you wish to hold any hope of returning to your precious Otherworld. If not, my Sisters will seal you away for another thousand years, for another, more willful and stubborn Sister to be bound to you. Just be glad I allow you to experience what I do, and sate your Desires on that.>
Obviously, the Demon did not feel like arguing the case any further, and instead gave in, allowing Skadi to call upon the powers locked away inside her, and with a shudder and a moan that almost seemed erotic, dark, bat-like wings sprouted from her back as she leaped off the tower and took flight, soaring far above the lights of Paris, in search of her Target.
And yet, somewhere within the vast sprawl of the city of Paris, there was someone bent on destroying all which the Rennesancé had brought, and bring back the superstition of the past.
