... its so dang hot right now... Where on the midcoast you from?

Check your private messages for more info.

Yeah, it's been hotter than hell lately. I drove down the coast to Lincolnville today, though, and it was perfect. Unfortunately, I work inland, so I'll be bitching about the heat tomorrow!

Fishing

I sent the evening fishing on Damariscotta Lake last night... watched some thunder boomers miss us.

Yeah, it rained here last night - a nice gentle rain.

Did you catch anything?

Another nice spot is Lake St. George on rte. 3.

I grew up in Maine as well, and I love going back to Maine every summer on vacation. It's good to see my family ... it's like reclaiming a part of my life I left behind when I left Maine, It's extremely relaxing ... in a lot of ways, it is my home.

I hear that a lot. That's what makes the signboard on the way in accurate "the way life should be". It brings a lot of people 'back' to days at camps, days on the shore, days at Grandparents, days with parents, vacations, etc.

It really is still, in many ways, vacationland. And I being an import am happy that I've landed here. I can easily think of worse places to land. But this is good. And the more I live here and explore here, the more I appreciate living here. A while ago, I considered relocating for work, but dismissed it after I discovered some of the Sacopee area of maine, notably Limington falls on a hot summer day. That turned my mind around and I decide that I'd wash dishes if I had to, but I was going to keep my family in Maine.

As far as the things that I see going against all that (casinos, taxes, etc (not to get too political here)) I'll have to fight that from within.

And sure, even if you're a summer resident or vacationing person, we'll count you in. Yes. :) (besides, you still gotta pay the toll to get in here, eh? : )

Only if I drive up the interstate.

Yeah, taxes ... just last summer I read that Maine was the most heavily taxed state in the country. Not too surprising.

I think next year when I come to Maine for the summer I'll schedule a 3- or 4-day Windjammer cruise

Maine is the highest taxed state, yes. It's painful. If the cost of living were higher, it would be more painful overall, but it's still annoying.

And hey, when you come up this way, perhaps you'll let us all know and maybe some literoticans can have a get together. :) Not on board ship, but perhaps in one of the towns.

:) Cheers!

well, thanx to those that allow me in. believe me - like i said - my heart and soul belongs to new england!!! maine more than anywhere else. what's more beautiful, right?????

and taxes - well, something is gonna cost out the ass no matter where u live, right? gotta weigh the beauty w/the ugly and know that the beauty wins always!

Starting? Started.

My boss already got his moose two weeks ago and was recently out and about with his son for youth hunting day.

I'm trying to leverage some of my own goods (I brew) for some of his moose meat. :) Moose stew!!!

i have always wanted to try moose. hell - i'd be happy to see a moose!!!! went up to the mountains several times on the bike over the summer, purposely to try and find a moose and never did!!!! think we saw a bear, but no moose.

save some stew for me!!!!!
