The secret of the rings has much more to do with whether or not they have holes (and I'm not telling), but I wiil say that if you can entertain an audience for five minutes with the Linking Rings you can do almost anything in magic.

Magicians don't tell their secrets because:

1) People want to be fooled, the same way they want roller-coasters to scare them. Would you take away the hills on a roller-coaster? Who'd pay for that?

2) There is a big difference between knowing the secret to a trick, and being able to do it. The art is in how it's done. I've told people how the Rings work, and they're still blown away by my routine (cause I'm THAT good). So knowing the secret is not going to satisfy your "how'd you do that?" curiousity, because the "how" has little to do with the secret.

3) We don't wanna.
