Do you guys thinknthere are ways to manipulate and harness energies to transform and enhance ourselves and others?

This is something I love to explore and write about.

Anyone have experience with this?

I made a UV light box once. It was illuminating. ;)

My sister is a big believer in reiki healing. I don't think it transforms anyone but I believe it may help someone become a bit more open to the possibility of positive, healing energy or thoughts.

I don't know what I believe on the subject. You look at cultures both primitive and modern and that theme in various different forms comes up. At times I feel I can sense energy in various situations. The word electrifying exist for a reason. Our bodies communicate with the assistance of electrochemical signals. I tend to think that what we experience as energy is probably pheromones triggering the synapses. Nevertheless it feels very electric at times.

It's all about the power of positive thinking and the harm that comes from negativity. What system of magic or spirituality you use is just your choice in symbols and symbolism.

I wear a mojo bag around my neck. It contains quartz (positive energy), carnelian (pro vs neg. energy) and amber (once a biological substance, now a mineral, changed by time).

It's a Jungian thing.

Always keep a defibrillator handy.

Pump-up your energy.

Zap.

I agree about positive thinking, it's really important. It's almost cyclic, you take care of one thing, like health and it leads to something else important in your life, like gratitude, for instance.

The whole process is just really interesting.

Sex energy, most definitely. That shit's all the way real.

When you've got an abundance of sex energy and meet people who run on the same current as you, lights turn on, stuff pops off. There's gonna be good times. Keep it positive, under control and ride the wave.

Concurrently, those with next to nil or negative sex energy, they will clash with you. Stay away and/or keep your distance from them while only engaging for practical reasons of limited time, they don't and won't benefit you from being in your zone.

That's what the tat on the right side of my chest is for. It has bindrunes for protection, life force and energy.

It's my metaphysical defibrillator.

My European family, which means 'spirit caller' has been practicing witchcraft for quite some time going way back before they were even called witches.

I don't buy into the magic as in rub some jizz on a tree and dance around it 33 times chanting some absurd shit at 3am on a full moon night while burning herb bundles bringing anyone great fortune or whatever.

But I do believe in the power of a focused mind.

I prefer working out and gardening to get there, others meditate, dance with rattle snakes and all sorts of weird shit.....but hey if you want to get witchy lots of folks do it.

Careful though, if you say as much you could find yourself a seriously fucked with minority real fast. Quite a few Christians simply do NOT like that shit, you're a Satan worshiper, evil and nothing short of an exorcism, baptism and your full commitment to the church will convince them otherwise. Even just researching it might get you into hot water with people you didn't expect to have such strong feelings about it. Seriously....it's like being an Atheist or Jew, gotta be careful who you let in on your project.

I only use my powers for good.

Good thing. There are many in the pagan community who believe that what energy you put into the world comes back 3 fold. Positive or negative energy. Karma is a universally known principle.

One minute a person is alive and vibrant. The next minute they are not.

What's the difference?

That's what turns out the light. But what is "the light"?

Nothing more than the transfer of energy by sub-atomic particles. Nothing more than the force that causes suns to blaze, galaxies to whirl and universes to expand.

i believe in karma as an energy transfer. we live in circles.

That's an emotion transfer. Energy is defined elsewise. If it can't be measured, it's virtual, not real. We can measure various forms of energy and karma ain't one of-em. Too bad. But it's a fun metaphor.

A: I have some potatoes, a chicken, and a potphor.
Q: What's a potphor?
A: To cook the potatoes and chicken in.

A: I have an idea and a metaphor.
Q: So what's a metaphor?
A: To cook the idea in.

Sort of like that. Karma is like sin, a useful tool to keep believers in line. "If you've got-em by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow." Tell people their sin or karma or whatever will send-em to hell or endless reincarnation -- that's how to enforce social norms. It's real to believers and irrelevant to outsiders.

I vote stream of consciousness

Tesla, UV/Vitamin D, Sexual Healing, musical healing, Solar energy.

Should we just call you Sagebrush from now on?

No, Neci is correct. Karma is a circular process.

so, *takes drag off of joint and sips tequila* because karma changes its value depending on how it's used, within its cycle, it's a form of energy.

Granted, if ConEd ever gets its greedy paws on karma for civic monetization, I might join you for protesting its unfair use and market price gouging, but...:D

"Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another."

Mr. Crowley, what went on in your head?
Oh, Mr. Crowley, did you talk to the dead?
Your life style to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic

Aleister Crowley was a drug addled lunatic. Certain drugs and limited use of those drugs can give some meaningful insights. But walking about whacked out on opium is best left to poets than philosophers.
