Not necessarily. Felonies are egregious crimes against society and more than one creates a pattern society cannot ignore.

So, here's a hypothetical for you: Let's say that some miscreant spent 10 months behind bars for domestic abuse where he nearly beat his girlfriend to death on multiple occasions. Now he's out and want to date your daughter.

You willing to give him a second chance?
 
Can't imagine the suit getting far unless they were asking questions they aren't allowed to ask. Otherwise it's standard practice for almost everyone.
