Mad Max: Fury Road

I'm excited for it. The preview made me realize I hadn't seen the Mad Max series. So over the last couple of weeks I rented/purchased/netflixed the movies. Hopefully Fury road captures the feel of The Road Warrior.

Mad Max felt like it dragged a little at times. I would have been just as satisified with it, if not more so, had a good thirty to forty-five minutes had been cut from the movie. The whole prophecy angle with the scavengers felt out of place in Thunderdome.

On a plus side I'm happy they're giving the franchise the James Bond treatment. Instead of getting remakes of franchises I'd rather see new chapters with people taking the mantles.

I'll be seeing Fury Road opening weekend though.

Yes! Saw the previews last week. Was it me or did it have a little steampunk feel to it?

I can see where you think it has a steampunk feel. Bartertown from the third one had a similar feel.

Bartertown? Hmmm was that a movie?

Edit: I should do like the above guy and get some Mad Max fix.

It's been years.

It was one of the major settings for Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Edit: I only know this because I saw the movie a day or two ago for the first time.

Yes. The Road Warrior. That's what they titled Mad Max 2 in the states.

Crikey that looks good. And I'll watch anything with Theron in. Loved the original. Mel in leathers.

Ha! Okay, now I see what you're saying.

Looks like some good, gratuitous violence, movie fun!

I was just a wee thing when Mad Max hit the screen.

Time for a catch up. :)

Ahahaha were you even born? I remember seeing it at the movies. Fata's right. Mel in leathers. His accent was stronger and he hadn't gone all crazy yet. :D

In my opinion you may not need to see the first Mad Max movie. The recap in the first five to ten minutes of Road Warrior covered it extremely well. Although if you have something like Netflix or Amazon Prime, Mad Max is available for viewing.

I liked the first one. It was more about gangs though back then. If I recall correctly.

Maybe just born? Lol! :D

I'm old enough to sit at the back of the cinema with you.
