Interesting concept. I love stories with symmetry of plot like that.

Although, when I read the thread title, I imagined a MMF throuple where one of the men decides to get a sex change, and then they get to figure new ways to relate to each other in the new FFM configuration.

(Or maybe all three of them get sex changes to turn them into a trans-FFM throuple?)

Pretty good concept. I like the idea that they like their boss because it's usually the asshole boss they're afraid of. But one they like makes them feel guilty and so they offer up their wives as compensation and the wives are happy to do it.

Maybe afterwards the boss and his wife would get in the action of an open marriage with everyone's spouses.
