"I can see her lying back in her satin dress in a room that you do what you don't confess."

Here's to the ones who dream
Foolish as they may seem
Here's to the hearts that ache
Here's to the mess we make

La La Land. Ouch. They get their dreams, but not each other.

I'm thinking Heavy Metal stuff. Like Metallica, Ozzy, Pantera, A/C D/C, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden.

I'm lonely and abandoned
Washed up, left for dead
I'm lost inside the desert
Of every word you said

Like a nuclear reactor
Or TNT
I'm thinking about the times
When you lied to me

All the innuendo
Caught up on your hook
I was just a name
In your little black book

Ah, I'll get even with you

I'm bitter and I'm twisted
I haven't slept in days
I'm lonely and I'm angry
I can't make it go away

I'm like a bomb that's ticking
I got voices in my head
I got a doll with needles in
Wishing you were dead

I'll get you back somehow
That's what I'm gonna do
I'll get you back somehow
Your nightmare coming true

Ah, I'll get even with you
Ah, that's what I'm gonna do
Gonna get even with you

You better look behind you
'Cause there I'm gonna be
I'll be standing in the shadows
With who I used to be

He's slightly schizophrenic
Me and me and me and me agree
That you are gonna pay
For what you did to me

Ah, I'll get even with you
Gonna get even with you
Ah, that's what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna do
Ah, I'll get even with you

Megadeath

I thought I was flying like a bird
So far above my sorrow
But when I looked down
I was standing on my knees.

It's on a list somewhere. I've never been into head banger music - maybe 1 or 2 songs. I'm more of a Skynard or Stynx type guy with a little MoTown or CCR here and there.

I grew up on classic rock/prog rock so I love that shit....but I discovered metal in the early 90's and fell in love with the shred.

Was really introduced to hiphop and electronica in 2001 when I went to the Army and started really listening to huge volumes of out there not on your Best Buy shelves music.

The internet helped with this immensely.

I'd poke my eardrums out before listening to Ozzy or Iron Maiden. You can figure out where I stand with the other stuff.

Dio was better but I still like a couple of Ozzy tracks, one really...warpigs.

The other Ozzy track I like is really only because Zakk Wylde ...one of the most magnificent man beasts still on stage doing the damn thing.

I thought I was flying like a bird
So far above my sorrow
But when I looked down
I was standing on my knees.

Kinda like a cloud I was up way up in the sky
And I was feeling some feelings you wouldn't believe
Sometimes I don't believe them myself
And I decided I was never coming down
Just then a tiny little dot caught my eye
It was just about too small to see
But I watched it way too long
That dot was pulling me down

I was up above it
I was up above it
I was up above it
I was up above it
Now I'm down in it
Shut up

So what what does it matter now
I was swimming in the hate now I crawl on the ground
And everything I never liked about you
Is kind of seeping into me
I try to laugh about it now but isn't it funny how everything works out
I guess the jokes on me, she said
I was up above it

Down In It....Words and lyrics by Trent Reznor

My personal favorite is Centerfield. Odd so many friends think I like Pink Floyd, but really it's only "Another Brick in the Wall" I like.

I hear Fogerty is touring again this year, anyone know something about that?

I love Centerfield. They always play it at the ball park. Makes me happy. But then I love The Natural, too.

Not sure about the lyrics, I don't even think they have any, but the visual performances of Skinny Puppy are pretty much mind crushing.

Yeah, I can see it now
The distant red neon shivered in the heat
I was feeling like a stranger in a strange land
You know where people play games with the night
God, it was too hot to sleep
I followed the sound of a jukebox coming from up the levee
All of a sudden I could hear somebody whistling
From right behind me
I turned around and she said
"Why do you always end up down at Nick's Cafe?"
I said "I don't know, the wind just kind of pushed me this way."
She said "Hang the rich."
