After voting this morning my wife and I wandered over to a local Hunting/Sporting Goods superstore that was offering a feed for voters. If you showed up wearing your sticker and chipped in $5.00 each you got to not only sample the foods on the grill but you got to have them make you something of your choice from their supplies.

My wife and I showed up with our appetites intact and were greeted by the scent of wild game sizzling on the grills and in a smoker.

Oh we chowed. WE had Elk Ribs both grilled and smoked. We had Buffalo Steak, grilled. We had Smoked Elk Roast and Venison Roast. Then we hit the grills for our specials.

My wife was polite and friendly. She just asked for a mild Elk Sausage sandwich. (With Peppers and Onions.) I got a bite of it and it was great. For myself I got one of the guys alone and put him to work. I had him pull up some ground Venison. I handed him a cannister of my favorite seasoning. (Slap ya Mamma) and had him add a bit to the meat along with some shredded Cheese before making it into a patty and putting it on the grill. (I let him keep the cannister, for which he thanked me.) As the patty cooked I picked out some thin sliced Onion and some Swiss Cheese. The guy even toasted the roll for me. Add a touch of Texas Pete Hot Sauce, (A nice mild sauce with a decent flavor) and my Bambi Burger was ready. Oh man talk about Heaven.

Oh and dinner tonight will be Chicken Wraps ala Cat. Thin sliced chicken breast marinated for 24 hours in my home made Hot Sauce. Fry these up and place on steamed Tortillas with shredded Lettuce, shredded Onion, shredded Cheese and some Salsa. Roll and enjoy.

Damn you and your delicious food, man! I'm on a diet! YOU CANNOT TELL ME THESE THINGS!!

Must not rush to the barbecue, must not rush to the barbecue :D

If I eat too late sometimes I get heartburn...not good to wake up to in the middle of the night.

Hmmmm, Haven't had to worry about that particular wakeup call for quite a while. I do have other wake up calls to deal with however.

Six of them as a matter of fact. Five are cats and one is the wife. I prefer the wifes late night wake up calls best.

Oh man,

I just finished dinner down here and let me tell you.

There's a little Mom and Pop Mexican place that just opened up not far from us. You can smell them for a ways down wind and it gets you drooling even before you hit the door.

When we walked in we were greeted by the wife and handed the menu.

As I scanned it I started drooling all over again. We're talking Beef Taco's for $.50 each.

We ordered half a dozen Beef Tacos and half a dozen Pork Assada Taco's to go. They whipped these up and packaged them with several different kinds of sauce.

Now let me tell you. The beef and Pork weren't ground, they were pulled. The meat had a great flavor and the sauces were incredible.

Oh and these aren't the wimpy little things you get in Taco Bell. These Tacos were made with 10 inch soft shells. We wiped out the Taco's even as we loosened our belts.

I'll be heading back there tomorrow to investigate the rest of their menu.
