Lucian's Private Retreat
It is a place that you've probably walked past more times than you could even fathom. When you first see it, I mean truly see it, you can't help but wonder how you hadn't noticed it before. The answer is simple. You didn't see it, because you didn't know it was there. Now that you know however, the simple magic that protects it from outside intrusion no longer effects you.
It looks like a small rundown bar from the outside, nestled between two larger buildings. Once you step inside though, everything you thought about it's outside appearance is forgotten.
The first thing that catches your eye is probably the full bar that spans the entire length of the wall to your right. The next thing that might catch your eye, or even the first, is the red furniture, a stark contrast against the light brown that is the wooden floor. The couch rests against the wall with a long wooden coffee table in front of it. At each end of the table is a reclining char, and across from the couch is a loveseat.
Whether you are alone and looking for a private place to think, here with a group celebrating or just having a good time, or even here seeking a private meeting with your host, there is room for everybody, and truly everybody is welcome.
Farther inside and down a small flight of steps, you will notice the large fire place taking up the center of the back wall. A large plush oval shaped rug lies before it, almost inviting you to sit down and lose yourself as you watch and listen to the crackling fire that never goes out. On either side of the rug, you will find loveseats, and directly in front of it, there is another recliner.
Now that you are here, in the center of my private retreat, you have a choice to make. You can head to your left, out the glass double doors onto the balcony upon which sits a hot tub. Behind the hot tub are a few chairs that face the railing, and over that railing, you can see and hear the ocean. Before your mind can figure out how all of this is possible though, you remember that there is still one place you haven't explored.
Across from the glass doors and the balcony you see the far wall. It is the same warm and inviting color as the floor, and is without decoration or blemish, save for a single closed door. What lies behind that door is a mystery, and the intricately written word in the center of the door simply adds to that mystery. Private
With that single exception, I welcome you, my friends, to my private retreat, a place where anything and everything is possible. Check all of your stress and worries at the door and come. Relax and make yourself at home.
