Just ran out of our last drop of Astroglide has a warming sensation to it came in clear bottle with orange cap.

We are curious about trying something different or should we stick with Astroglide?

Suggestions and experiences welcome....

Thanks!

It'd help immensely if you'd give us more info, such as:
- What activities do you use the lube for?

- What qualities are most important to you in a lube (e.g. long-lasting, slipperiness, multi-tasking, price, "sensations" like warming, hypoallergenic and/or doesn't promote vaginal infections, tastes okay...)?

- Do you use your lube with latex condoms or toys that contain silicone?

- Are you only considering water-based lubes?

- Did you really like the warming Astroglide? If so, what did you like about it? If not, what did you dislike?

- Have you tried any other lubes that did or didn't work for you and/or your partner?

We've tried many lubes over the years, but our favorite is silicone. It doesn't irritate, promote infections, dry out or go bad; a little goes a looooonnng way (a 16oz bottle lasts us years); it feels silky and moisturizes the skin; plus, it's waterproof and a great multitasker. The only caveat is that it can't be used with most toys that contain silicone. However, we don't find this problematic since we can always use those toys with condoms or simply use a water-based lube with those specific toys (we find it's helpful to keep a bit of water-based on hand, along with our big bottle of silicone).

I don't like lubes like Astroglide because they contain too much junk that promotes irritation and vaginal infections, and they just don't last and multitask like silicone. But that's just my personal preference.

Perhaps your best bet is to get some sample/pillow packs of different types and brands of lube so you can compare and try a variety out prior to buying a larger bottle.

SweetErika is into more detail than me. I assume you want lube to ease your man's cock or a toy so it can slide easily inside you. If so, we use 'Sylk' but i suspect it's an Aust product, made by 'Geneva', it's natural and non-greasy, just allows for a smooth ride and lasts forever coz you use only a drop to lube a nice thick cock or toy. But getting juiced up through prolonged foreplay is still the bets - and most natural - lubricant

I found a waterbased lube called ID Glide a few years back and have been addicted to the stuff ever since.

Wife and I have tried Astroglide (usually when we were out of town and forgot to pack our lube) but I don't care for it much. For me it just felt sticky, syrupy or what have you and didn't provide enough "wetness" for our needs.

Lube really is a personal preference and like SweetErika said it also matters what you are using the lube for.

I'd recommend looking online or in stores for "sample" packs, usually they are only good for one application (also are generally included with the purchase of new toys) but they tend to allow you to try multiple types before you spend money on a larger quantity.

I think the wife and I even got a free sample in the mail from one of those online things were you can get free samples of just about anything.

Good Luck

I recently used KY Warming Liquid for some anal play and it worked just fine. It came in a small plastic bottle with an orange top. It almost sounds like it's exactly what you were using, but maybe with different branding. Or maybe that's just a coincidence.

ID was nice. I use "WET Naturals" which is glycerin/pareben free, feels very much like my own slickness, and lasts quite well vaginally/anally. Supposedly even underwater, haven't tried that yet. I'm not big on flavors/heating in my lube, rather keep it natural.

favorite lube

I like the Durex "play" lube... its marketed on the packaging as a "massage gel" but works great as personal lube. Its glycerin free which is great for preventing the "baking of bread" if you will ;) and its water based but with the consistency of a gel which makes it great for anal....

We are looking for something for basic vaginal fucking. She has a bit of an allergy to latex condoms...

Astroglide did seem a little messy and I don't think we really felt the warming stuff it said it had. Felt just like regular astroglide.

She is not much of a Dildo woman. She uses her purple vibrator on the outside and doesn't use lube with it.

Plz tell me more about the ID lube.

What is the difference in using water based vs silicone?

ID sells many forms of lubrication, the "GLIDE" line is water based and has a low consistancy (means it doesn't feel gummy). Since Glide is water based it is safe for use on any and all "toys" (silicone and latex safe) and also reactivates to moisture fairly easily.

I prefer lube that functions as what it is/was intended for without making me feel as though I'm using any. Since Glide is waterbased cleanup is really easy and it doesn't leave much of a mess on sheets or other materials like silicone lube can do. Glide is good for sensitive skin because of its water based structure but it is not hypoalergenic (they do sell a lube for that as well)

Silicone can be slicker, its probably the greatest advantage it has as well as it generally is used for "warming/cooling" additives. If used ID's Mellinium lube before and it was definately slick and better in my opinion then Astroglide but and I would probably use it more but I still feel it on me after sex.

I would recomend going to the ID website and getting samples, try as many different lubes as you can and you and your wife/girlfriend talk about what you prefered about each lube and go from there.

Wife and I don't use toys much, if ever; but we need lube for vaginal penetration and we both agree that ID Glide is the best lube we have ever used. However, this is just our opinion.

Astroglide is good. Lots of foreplay is way, way better. Of course, there are some that prefer things like natural juices from fruits and so forth.

I'd say ask a Pharmacist. They know all about it. I was nervous to ask the guy who was 50ish, but he knew. The new his and hers is good. I still think lots of foreplay is best. If you do that first, lots of women will do all kinds of things they were shy about before like oral, swallowing and anal. I hate anal, but, if it turns you on, so be it.

Well, it could be because Astroglide wasn't designed for fucking. It was created for medical procedures like enemas, so being long lasting or putting it into the vagina weren't really considerations. If you want a great sex lube, it's probably best to use one specifically designed as a sex aid. :D
