Then there was Nixon's South American trip in the late 1950s when vast crowds spat upon his motorcade. The theme song then was, GREAT EXPECTORATIONS.
Current POTUS sets a new presidential standard for low expectations, like a tap-dancing dog. The wonder is that he hasn't yet shat himself onstage. But he's come close. Our best hope with DJT's UN visit is that he doesn't provoke shooting or trade wars. Anything beyond that, like treaties and shit, will look like miracles.
But keep those expectorations handy.

I don't get the name calling and hate. What has Trump done to you so far? Has he taken away your free health insurance? Has he raised your taxes? Taken away your job? Restricted your liberties? What?
Oh that's right, he supports white supremacists. Even though he's said he doesn't, time and time and time again.
But, he's deporting illegals in droves. Even though Obama deported more than Trump has on a per month basis and he wants CONGRESS to enact a DACA law because Obama's EO was illegal.
But, but, he encourages violence by his supporters! Except it's not Trump supporters who are out attacking, vandalizing, looting and destroying public property.
THE MUSLIM BAN! Except it isn't.

Nixon opened China to world trade and opportunity. (Maybe to everyone's financial regret but he did it.)
Kennedy gave the US the will to put a man on the moon.
Clinton advanced social liberties and opened doors for alt lifestyle citizens while also balancing the federal budget with a surplus.
The guns are there to ensure that antifa and other sedition/resistance orgs don't succeed in an unlawful coup. We voted. We have the guns to ensure that our votes count and stay counted. As was the case when we wrote that letter to the king back in 1776, whenever our voices are no longer heard, our pleas disregarded, and our welfare in jeapardy then we no longer own our lives or our government. At that point we WILL take them back from those who would use us for their own purposes.
