Loving Wives

I posted another thread concerning some readers' aversion to slut wife/adultery stories. I was wondering if any other authors have thought that it may be an improvement to have the loving wive's category divided into different themes since they seem to attract different readers.

The term "Loving Wives" is somewhat vague. I actually had a reader send me a message complaining about my story because he thought the LW section should contain stories about wives and their husbands having loving sex together. Most story sites have different categories such as:

adultery/cheating
cuckold
slutwife
swingers

I think that lumping all these themes together in one section is not the best way of categorizing. I for one, write alot of stories concerning girlfriends that cheat or swing but wouldn't really fit under the umbrella of "loving wives".

Now I realize that it would be difficult to make new categories now, but I would like to hear other author's thoughts on the subject. Do you think having one category for all these themes is the best approach? Or have you had any problems with this?

My suggestion, to minimize coding and database modification, was to archive the existing category as it stands right now, create the new categories, lock the LW category to new submissions, and allow authors with stories in the existing archive to switch to the new ones that are better divided if they so choose.

But...oh yeah. I dipped my toes into LW and they got bitten off. I'll probably delete and resubmit to EC to see if the response changes.

In LW they were pissed off that the woman in my story went outside the marriage to scratch an itch and they were ready to pounce if I had the husband try bi...which I teased them about

It was interesting and kind of fun. There are some nice folk there who are very heartfelt about their fiction. Part of the problem in LW is that they can't let the story unfold and must rant about each chapter as it happens without taking things in broader context.

Haha, Jomar you should read my other thread. It seems to be pretty common occurance in that cateory. I don't even submit to LW category anymore. It's full of people that seem to get pleasure out of reading these stories and then complaining about them. I've done my best to understand them, but unfortunately they always sign "anonymous".

I'm not sure what pleasure they glean from this, but it seems to be the way things work. It can be disconcerting, but trust me, the score will begin to rise as normal people begin to read your story.

Oh don't I know...I have post several over the years to LW. In fact many, most of which I have removed from there and included in an anthology of LW stories that will go on sale over at eXcessica.com in October.

So if the trolls want to read them now and bad rap them, they'll have to pay me to do it.

I only wrote one story for that category and it did quite well. I must admit that I was baffled by the number of respondents who seemed to be disappointed that the husband wasn't cuckolded. There seem to be a number of readers who want the bad guys to win, the wife to be victimized and the husband to be humiliated. You have to wonder about people like that.

That's the basic problem with that category--you have strong views split on both sides, so you can't win (although I too have done very well with the only story I've put in that category). I have another idea for a LW story, but I don't want to read in the category so I can't really tell whether my idea has been done to death there already.

Yeah, I get the same responses as Zeb. Don't get me wrong, I get a lot of positive ones as well, but it seems the wife stories get the brunt of the negative feedback. It's funny, though those stories aways get the most views. Seems people like to read them whether they hate them or love them.

That's one of those things that's hard to explain...they spend the time to read them, hate the story(so they say) then spend all that time to write a long scathing comment.

I have two with around 250 votes each. One is in the 4.4s and the other in the 4.6s If nothing else, that category has the advantage of generating new feedback on old stories far more often than virtually anywhere else on the site.

Most of my feedback on both has been positive. Don't know whether that means that I successfully navigated the shark-infested waters, or whether they just weren't good enough to attract the screecher's attention

Somehow, I doubt that anything you write is going to be cliche or done to death, no matter the category *laugh* May as well just write it and turn it loose.

I have nine in the category, one about a really loving wife, three about swingers and five about the classical slut wives. One of the latter has a H and none of the others do. All but the actuaL loving couple have collected nasty comments since being posted, some of them quite comical.

But there is a reward, the silly comments from the trolls. I find it very reward when my story provokes a troll to call, me the author, names because they feel inadequate in their own lives. I mean, come on, they are perusing a porn literature site to get their jollies off not read about a well balanced, strong and faithful marriage. How stupid do they think we are?

Actually, I post most of my stuff in the anal category. I avoid loving wives at all costs, but some of my stories get put there anyways by the editors. The trolls find my stories no matter where I place them anyways. I don't mind the comments. I'm jsut astounded at how angry these people get. I can't even imagine getting so pissed off at a story.

If a strapon is used, it will probably be placed in the Toys/Masturbation category. I have several stories in there of a woman or women using a strapon on a man's ass. I will probably be writing some more in the near future. This kind of story collects a lot of negative comments too.

Oh I get good comments too...just look at those on my latest submission. Here. There were two others I delete because they were off topic and although I don't mind attacks on me personally, they just didn't belong in the list of comments.
