What would you authors say was a good example of a loving wife category story?

Literally just a sex scene between man and wife or something more power play?

It depends. If you do a quick scan of the story descriptions, you'll see that often "Loving Wives" are cuckold stories.

Mine! :D

I don't really get the question. If you're asking which stories are good examples of the category, it will completely depend on your taste. Personally, I'm not a fan of stroke stories, I prefer some background and personalities to the characters. I am much more interested in the eroticism if I actually care about them for some reason. There are a number of excellent authors in the category: Longhorn_07, Jack Straw, Ohio, Harddaysknight, etc...). Patricia51 has some very good stories that deal with the subject differently than the standard wife cheats.

If you're asking a general opinion about what we like...I enjoy anything that has a plot and makes me feel something; whether it's happy, sad, or erotic.

no no, I mean - what is the general theme for Loving Wives?

Cos incest, anal etc - all pretty self-explanatory, but Loving Wives confuses me.

My question is, what the hell does that word mena? I see it everywhere, and I'm pretty sure I looked it up once or twice, but the definition obviously didn't sink in.

In laymens terms?

Stories about men who are humiliated by their partners. They range from men who allow their wives to cheat because they are too weak to stop them, to men who are into 'cream pies' (I'll spare the gory details, but it involves the wife having sex with another man, then coming home for the husband to "sample"). Some people get off on the idea of the wife humiliating the man, some are infuriated by reading about such a gutless guy (but they read it for the same reason some liberals listen to Rush Limbaugh).

Ah, yes, write about a weak husband being humiliated and you're liable to get a feedback in all caps which berates you as a low-life who WRITES PUSSY WHIPPED WIMPS! Oh, and be sure to make the husband impotent. :D

cuck·old [kuhk-uhld]
–noun 1. the husband of an unfaithful wife.

so 'loving' wives is ironic then?

Yes and no. The loving could be that the wife loves her husband enough to do whatever he wants her too. In some cases the husband just likes to see his partner have fun, maybe fun he can't provide or is unwilling to provide or he believes can only be provided by extra partners (mainly male).

Or maybe he's a voyeur and just likes to watch.

Or as others have stated the wife is the dominate one and does as she pleases whether he likes it or not.

But whatever you write about, just be warned, you will receive feedback like you have never gotten before.

I wrote one where the husband was a paraplegic and he wanted to give his wife something he couldn't... through his best friend...

You wrote Lady Chatterly's Lover, SK? Congrads

Oh yes Sk - I read that one. Superman, wasn't it? Your writing is hardly run-of-the-mill though!

Did you get unusual feedback Selena?

Wouldn't that be a loving husband story?

That's the problem with the category. Anything that involves a married couple is either LW or EC (or Interracial or Group Sex, depending on the incident). The best advice on categories I ever received was from Longhorn, who told me that if the story is about the consequences of a wife's actions (good or bad), it belongs in LW...even if her actions were dictated by her husband.

Since there is no husband category, you could put a cheating husband in EC, or just treat LW as Loving Couples. But people shouldn't make the mistake of assuming the LW category is monolithic. There is every type of story you could imagine (and a few I couldn't have  ).

True. Oh, and I meant it as a joke! ;)

I caught that. The category isn't talked about much here, so I tend to babble when it is (it's definitely my favorite category).

And mine, I had quite a number of LW stories posted. They are now down and being edited for content and so forth and may even make a reappearance. :)

Excellent, a second chance to get flamed. :nana:

You've got to love a category where the PCs are often longer than some stories on the site.

Yep...nastier too.

Well, she was reluctant... and really, she did it more as a gift to her husband... because it seemed like something he wanted... (not that she didn't enjoy it)... it was all very convoluted and complicated...

Yep, but some good comments, too. Here.

You wrote Lady Chatterly's Lover, SK? Congrads

I suppose a variation thereof... now if I could only collect those kinds of royalties... :p

I actually came out virtually unscathed with my first dive into shark infested waters. Only one negative comment, and it was perfectly legitimate/constructive ( I messed up something while editing out a redundant word after a rewrite, and lost a bit of information that caused something to be unclear )

I pulled it off :nana: ( Shameless plug: Linked in Sig, written as Les Lumens )

Thanks for the first-read once again SDes :D

would anyone be willing to share some of the odd feedback received? (or give a link)

what are the common themes? (give a capsule of your story, as well). i looked through public comments of a few LW stories, but i gather the bad stuff is often deleted.
