I have 3 chapters of one story published and another one-shot story published, but I have a lot of other stuff already written or being worked on.
My goal is to try to write something for as many categories on Lit as possible. I want to improve as a writer and I thought that would force me to broaden my horizons a bit while also being fun. It's a silly goal, but I'm cool with it.
I published a sci-fi story that I knew would tank. I had certain goals that didn't add up to a very readable story. I enjoyed writing it and it scratched an itch I had to experiment with some things.
The other story I have published in the Taboo/Incest category will be concluded with the chapter I'm putting up next week. It was well received, but I know that it's not that good. It's very deliberate in it's emotional manipulations, it's overly melodramatic and when you strip it down, it's sort of pedestrian, but not bad.
I read a thread where people were recommending some favorite authors. One of them had stories in the Loving Wives category. I was completely unfamiliar with the genre so I decided to take a look. The story was huge. Novel length and broken down into chapters.
I didn't bother to read any comments until I was almost done with the story and... I was flabbergasted. They were fucking unreal. It was as if there was an army of anonymous commentors that were crawling out of the woodwork to bludgeon the (very skilled) author because the main characters wife had cheated on him.
These people were insane! Every other post was about how the character was a cuck and the author likely was as well. The people posting were clearly barely literate and were living proof that people with double digit IQ's could still find their way to an erotica site.
More than anything, it was sad. They are clearly damaged individuals. I read another story and the same thing held true there.
Is that category just the cesspool of Literotica when it comes to comments?
This turned into more of a rant than I had anticipated, but these people are seriously fucked up. Someone had to have broken their heart at some point and they haven't been able to get over it.
