Hi,
I only seem to get bashed in this category...now my stories are extreme...but still...

How does one write a loving wives story that people don't bash like you are the Satan?

Just curious...not sure I actually want to do it...but am curious...

well, from what people say here, I'm not sure it's possible. it seems like this is par for the course in that category. don't take it personally, okay? keep writing and posting your stuff and ignore the trolls. :rose:

That is the nature of Loving Wife readers. They like their sex vanilla and boring. If you insist of posting in this catagory be prepared for the insults (and even worse). Grin and bear it. I regulary read the new submittals, and then check out the comments on the ones that really push it. If this does bother you, post the stories in another catagory where the readers are more likely to appreciate your story.

For a few examples: If a couple wants to invite another male into their bed, you could post it under Loving Wives, or group sex. A couple where the wife wants to experiment with her female neighbor while the husband watches could go under Loving Wives, or lesbian.

Just don't give up on your writing because of the comments you get from posting on the most difficult genre on this site.

All I can say is good luck with that. ;)

The LW cat attracts every cuckolded, masochistic, emasculated, whining, misogynistic, wimpy, closet subbie, wack-job of a reader this side of the North American Continent; most of whom post their comments as 'Anonymous'. Did I mention they're cowards too?

They all think 'the bitch got (or needs to get) exactly what she deserved(s)' or something like that. If she doesn't, they begin frothing at the mouth and have been known to inflict a painful bite.

Some writers here have swam (swum?) in that shark tank and lived...most become chum in the water.

It's no place for the thin skinned writer.

I like to write in the LW category, mostly for the comments I get. One of my first stories was posted there. Silly me, I thought the Loving Wives category was for loving wives, and I wrote about a newly wed couple on their wedding night. They were both virgins. It did not get bombed, and got rather complimentary comments, but I later had it transferred to First Time, where it should have been in the first place.

Now, I like to write about women who are not satisfied by their husbands, for one reason or another, so they take up with the gardener or with George Boxlicker (first person stories) or just with somebody they meet on the internet. Trolls curse and revile me, and tell me what a lousy writer I am, :) which is one of the reasons I write there, to rattle their cages.

Take the hate mail & pissed off comments as compliments, it means the stories are being read, and more importantly, what you wrote was good enough, engaging enough to get a reaction.

And more importantly, keep writing. I'll go swimming in those waters eventually, but I have more sick, twisted stories to work on...

If it's readers and comments you are looking for, LW is a good place to find it. I have lots of stories posted there. Not every reader is a sicko. I've have gotten a lot of nice comments as well.

In LW they don't like a cuckold husband. They do like revenge stories. Be happy that you can stir the emotions of your readers that they will take the time to comment on your story. Be thicked skin because there will be a goodly amount of negative comments.

I will add that a true loving wife story is also accepted in this category. I have a few of them also. You will find two sides to every story. The one that want the cheating wife distroyed and the other that want the couple to come back together. The readers often argeue with eith other in your comments.

Good luck if you choose to write there. It's one of my favorite cateories to write in.

I'm writing a LW story. I'll be really curious to see what the reaction is (mine starts with three dead bodies. I was chatting to a writer friend who said, "you know, the LW crowd will just go they all deserve to die anyway!" and he's probably right :p).

I love it. I read in that category not because I love the subject matter but because the ones who comment are bat-shit crazy. It's awesome.

I have written stories of all of the camps of LW. They all have the craziest comments.

I have on story that a reader commented how twisted my mine was. Then reread it four months later and thought it was the greatest thing he ever read.

Write what you want, it's your story, it's your hard work, don't ever, ever worry about trolls. Those readers that see the way you use words to express a story will notice and be repeat readers.

Most or possibly many LW readers hate a cuckolded husband but there are a few who get very offended it the husband and wife stick together and don't stray. It's odd, you know? Why would someone root for the good guy to be victimized I cannot understand but such readers exist. BTW, they never write anything themselves but will go on for paragraphs about what you did wrong.

How can you tell if they write stories or not? Most bashes are from Any Mouse. Of course, many of them are barely literate, so you have to figure they aren't authors, but you can't tell about the rest. :(

Admit it, if Lit. defined the category better or split it off into other categories, you guys writing in that category would be crushed.

I've put a couple there that followed my concept of the topic and they've done well.

Oh, I got bashed by a couple of someone's with the courage to sign their messages, that's how I knew. The Anonymous ones really don't matter but when some reader waxes all eloquent and pedantic about what I should or should not have put in the story I way a little attention . . . and then let the other readers blow him off!

One of the problems with the Loving Wives category is that it means different things to different readers. Some are looking for stories about wives that love their husbands (romance). Some are looking for revenge stories on cheating spouses (either husbands or wives). Some are looking for cuckold fantasies. Some are looking for stories about the cheating spouse's experience (as opposed to revenge on them for cheating). It goes on.... So, when you get a reader that is looking for a story that isn't the same as what you've written, the chances of negative feedback and/or a low vote are very high. Eventually, people associate a certain type of story with writers and you have less mismatches. Just keep mind that there are always new readers that will come across your story, so you will never avoid mismatches.

IMO, it's probably a good idea to post the story under the activity category that has the smallest niche appeal. (That is, the activity that the protagonist participates in.) For example, a story chapter that could fit under incest, first time, loving wives, non-consent, and group sex, should probably be classified as non-consent if that is an activity that the protagonist participates in.

The topic reminds me why I like the SOL system of tags. I can avoid the sort of stories that I don't like, most of the time, on the site. The only exceptions are when I miss a tag or when a writer fails to add the correct tags.

It's just honest and simple. It's a proxy account through which I can give voice to opinions.

Thanks or the comments...

I don't care about negative comments...it is just all my lowest stories are in lw...

That said, they are probably not my strongest stories either...

Just curious what it takes to hit the 4.50 in a loving wives story...i probably can't write one...

Do the anon trolls even bother to vote accordingly? Do they curse your name and then vote 5, or do they rip you a new one and one-bomb you to oblivion?

If it's supposed to be a "tears" story, don't dwell too much on the angst. That's okay for the Twilight kiddies, but not those with a lot more life experience. The protagonist has to keep moving forward. You can can visit the well every now and then, particularly if there's a vengeance aspect to the story, but make it clear that there's a lot more dimension to the character. Rehnquist and DanielQSteele1 do an excellent job in handling the character development after whatever pivotal event (divorce/death/etc.) that brings the character to his or her lowest point.

I am so tempted to write something guaranteed to provoke the nutterbutter in this section and watch the hate mail roll in. They probably wouldn't even realise they were being baited, but that's just me. I'm kinda evil...:D

I think authors here are doing this frequently.

I have hit 4.5 with several stories in LW, but the minute I do the trolls pound it with 1, 2, 3 votes.
