Loves Spam - Onto IGNORE you go

Haven't visited this forum for awhile, but now I come back and see lots of alts/trolls by some FOOL who thinks that acting like a childish little brat is anything more than masturbating their ugly selves because they can't get any real attention.

It seems this BORING person has so little imagination that they have "Loves Spam" on nearly every single one of their stupid alts. So, everytime I see a profile or sig or anything else with "Loves Spam" in it, I put them on IGNORE quick as flash, and I see them no more.

Then just to make sure that they can't see their own name up there on the front page and will have difficulty finding it, off I go to find some other interesting thread to post on. Isn't great that so many people are now doing this that it was hours before I even saw the first of that silly "Loves Spam" person's threads. They were pushed right down to several pages back.

I rarely post here, but I do enjoy reading the threads, and it makes it so much easier to find interesting threads when the troll's threads have basically disappeared.

I just did a search on members to find those names, and found heaps of those skiddles alts. So I put ALL OF THEM on IGNORE.

Thank you Killswitch for the tip. I only encountered skiddles22 before. Now I've got them all.

This sort of thread is pretty common and I've always wondered why people create them. I've come to the conclusion that it's a "Neener neener you're on Ignore now!" or "Yucky-face Poopy-Head! You aren't invited to my Birthday party!" sort of sentiment.

The posting of "This message is hidden because (insert name of poster) is on your ignore list" is representative of them plugging their ears and shouting "I can't heeeaaaarrrr yoooouuuuu!".

It's harder these days, when "kids" get a hold of this website. It's nice to be able to go to a forum and interact, AND be able to be mature as well.

That's nice. Lots of other people are doing the same thing.

Just ignore the negativity of some people here who have apparently misinterpreted where you're coming from in what you're saying and just go ahead and do it.

I can't stand Brinnie's attempts to ruin the fun for other people either. Whether she/he/it uses a thousand alts called skiddles, diddles, or anything else doesn't matter. It's the behaviour that I can't tolerate and think is wrong.

It must make it a very disappointing sight to visit Literotica for the first time (or first few times) for any newcomers.

There will always be people who will put down anyone who even tries to do anything to make things better for others. I'd say, just ignore them too. If we all went around with the attitude that "Ho-hum it's all be done before" to every little thing that a newbie does, it would only stop anyone bothering to do anything at all.

So, I say "Go ahead and good on you."

Besides, we all need sometimes to express our own feelings on a problem, and if others don't like that and prefer to criticize and demean, then their opinions aren't likely to be worth caring about.

I agree.

But it must make it very annoying for somebody who like me is still new to the site, to pop in, and just see page after page filled with garbage threads posted by a single person who thinks that flooding the board with their threads shows how powerful they are.

If I'd seen this forum for the first time when those alts were at their peak, I think I would've never come back.

That's part of the reason I posted this thread. I just wanted other new comers or people like me who haven't visited all week and only visit on weekends to easily see what to do about it.

When I first came here, I didn't know about the ignore feature. I didn't know how to do lots of things, and still don't know how to lots of things which more experienced posters on this site no doubt take for granted.

I'm not trying to pretend self importance or anything like that, but I think it is important sometimes to make sure that an attention-seeking troll knows that their antics are going to become invisible, and that nobody will see them. The more people who say they are putting the troll on ignore, the more it becomes known to that troll that their antics have backfired....

You know, a good solution for newcomers and for old farts like us (who have seen a million threads like this one) might be a sticky explaining to newbies how they can deal with trolls. Lord knows trolls are an integral part of this forum!

The more threads with their name in the title, and the more people telling them that they've gotten to them enough to have put them on ignore, the happier the little troll is. See, they've accomplished their purpose...to annoy, disturb and affect the posters here in some way.
