We had only been married about a year, when the lovely victorian came onto the market. I had always dreamed of living in a house like that with the rounded cupola on the corner of the house. David had never laughed when I told him my dreams of living in a house like that. Yes it was out of the city and off intothe country, but that was a good thing. Bad things happened in the city and here when we had children it would be a beautiful home. We signed the papers on our one year anniversary and had even stayed the night in the downstairs living room on the floor in sleeping bags with wine and a romantic meal for two. It was the most beautiful thing John would ever give me. A place to call our own.
Yes this was a fixer uppper house, most house like this had to be, simply because the money required to revamp them was so extreme. John and I both had a modest income, but we also had an inheritance each that would allow for the restoration of the house. This became our dream together as we began the renovations. We were a month into the work when David found the room upstairs that had held the rusty nail in an envelope the disappeared. (RE: A Story LIne)
