Love (no lust for lusts sake)poems, post them here. Love in all it's aspects. New, old, lost, memories, friends, both human and animals,(as seen in a past challenge many have lost a dog), even of your Country or someone else's that you've visited.
Also if you have any tips for writing a good love poem (and what not to write!) add those too.
Critique invited (if you want none say so)
Trolling free zone. Peace and love :rose:

marriage

I the clerk designed for you
by this higher institution
before hearing your vows
that you are her and you are his
I have to warn you about this
one thing
two married people will encounter
a lot of good sunny days and a lot of bad rainy days
a lot of happiness and a lot of sorrow
gold & diamonds but also frustrations & tears
and all kind of things
as for instance children

thus listen carefully to what
this clerk who marries you has to tell you
two people in a marriage
can afford but one dream

who care?

-

who care?

flying flowing rolling ... glue
to the wall to the chair to the table
the light's a pain but who care?
she do not cares I does not care
nobody care what did i want to say?

marijuana vodka flu glue
your chair to the floor or stroll
i talk like a king
not a word wasted
i feel simple
i feel simply great
only deep deep deeper inside
i talk nonsense
i say

come to me
thru flu and glue and alcohol
with open arms or with a sword
and hold me tight or cut my head away
set yourself into motion
my head'll roll into the ocean

Goldman

Your eyes drew me into your soul.
You next to me, made me feel whole.
Not that I wasn't whole before.
But your spirit touched me, deep to the core.
Your hands, so calm and healing.
Such a warm and blessed feeling.
All around you an aura so bold
Festooned with rainbows and sprinkles of gold.
I knew from that moment that you were mine.
Your heart so pure, your being divine.
I am the teacher, you learn from me.
You are my mentor, we are one you see.
Two old souls, roaming this earth
Filling the world with love and mirth.
So happy am I that we are together.
Engulfed in learning, two birds of a feather.
Spreading our light to all that we see.
Embracing the universe with our glee!

the candy bars from the jukebox
rhythmically fill my ears
the cigarette smoke
devours my eyes...
checking upon my future past
bidding farewell

Just a paragraph in the local paper
of somebody's wedding,
but I knew his brother,
back in the days of virginity
and Mods and Rockers.
I was a Rocker really
but he looked so cute
in his parka on the scooter
his daddy bought him,
the one he died on.
I still see his face and remember
how I flirted
just to ride behind him.
I wasn't in his social standing really
but I looked the part with flowing blonde hair.
Good enough to be his girl
till her went away to uni
and left me behind.
He sold his scooter,
rode it to the new owner,
I wasn't his girl then
so they told me afterwards.
Wasn't a mark on his body
where he died in the road.

i'll wake you up
and tell you a story
then let you sleep

when you wake up
you'll let me know
am i alive
or just a dream

the light finds its way
to blind me
oh lady put that blade
down

you drive across my eyes
lay with me side by side
leave that blade aside

another ray
has caught my eye afire
three times a lady
one time a psycho
has a chilling effect
on my desire
oh blah blah blah

Shopping

I may have sounded
to my girlfriend
like I had somethin'
to explain

No way,
I just said:

You were not around
so I went
to buy me a pair
of shorts

There was that woman, you know,
she was looking for a pair of tight shorts too,
she asked me to look closely how they fit her,
her cheeks were rosy like yours,
I took her measurements for you.

Then we carefully
chose a pair for me,
she said
that you'll love to look at them
from certain angles.

To this my girlfriend replies:

You were not around,
so I went
to buy us a bed.
There was a fellow, you know,
he was bigger than you, you know,
we tried that bed and he said
I love this springy bed.

And so will you,
I took his measurements for you.

These were the last words
that we have exchanged,
we keep shopping
our separate ways.

who are you

cindy who are you what's your name?
cindy how are you what a shame
that in the middle of now and then
i can't help thinking about ...

do you believe
that i exist
slow down your pulse
try to resist
the image the woman the shoulders of trust
time's rolling the story like wagon in dust

red eyes
_ _ _ _ like a newspaper
at the door of a neighbor
will greet
_ _ _ _ a new day
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the morning

time is passing faster
on this side of the continent --
now i am old enough for you
my hair is pure silver
my breath is pure alcohol

it is a long way from your side of the continent
where the sun is learning its color from your hair
and brings here your dreaming expressions
and your childish attempts at being mysterious

i cannot stop the sun
nor the rainbow of memories

I'm very much into writing the Lilibonelle form which is the easiest I've ever encountered :D but I find it lends itself to love poems very well. I learned it as a rhyming form but I think it could quite easily be written non rhyming..

with the exception of L8, i find this beautiful

Palm to palm
upon a screen,
they touch
across the miles.
Love transferred
through fingertips.

boomerang dreams

-

boomerang dreams

that what didn't exist
came back mature
spiderweb-like dreams
and boomerang-like
a birdling looking for its nest
a swallow vanishing in the far sky thru a black crack
a crow clacking non-stop

my head was beating against them
like a metallic fly
then they were like a hammock
swinging near a lake

someone else had dreamed them
in my head
but called me in vain
i woke up
shutting off
my adolescent past

can you see the reflection
of the yellow smile
of the icy night sky
in your sexy hot tub
in which you sail
thru your steamy life

in my apartment
your fancy furniture
is adream
about the good old days
when bums
were fucking all over
it's so quiet now

I don't find that very easy to follow! Write the first stanzq rhyming the 2nd and 4th lines. The 2nd stanza's first line is the 2nd line of the first stanza. The 3rd stanza's first line is the 3rd line etc. Of course you can write a longer first stanza making the whole poem longer. Is that as clear as mud lol :)
.
A Lilibonelle

I have known you fifteen years,
friends, not even close at that.
I'm not quite sure why it was
we took the time to sit and chat.

Friends, not even close at that,
maybe the gods made stars align,
something, somewhere saw a need
and love stepped in and made you mine

I'm not quite sure why it was
that we should even strike a spark,
for I was low and lay in pain,
you brought a rainbow to my dark.

We took the time to sit and chat,
my heart took over, soared and flew
to a place I've never been before.
The spark aflame, burns strong for you.

advancing into the sunset

the two-dimensional surface
and the selfboat of my body

from another dimension
your warm presence
seems
_ _ _ _ in this cool ocean
more real
_ _ _ _ than my own

with every breath of the salty water
i taste roses
_ _ _ _ of your wavy breasts

the ocean passes by (the sun is red)

i wear horizon
_ _ _ _ 'round my head

A Lilibonelle

[...]

This is a very nice poem, and it's extra nice that it makes people feel good (also, it gives justice to Lilibonelle).

I am sorry that I trolled about your poetry in the blurt thread (I think it was the only time I have ever entered some nonsense about anybody's poetry into any polemic clashes, too bad).

Regards,

I know others see you as this kind, fair quiet guy,
I did too and you're all of that,
but now you've thrown away the mask,
let me in to the multi faceted you,
gathered me in to lie my head upon your shoulder,
safe in your love. Passionate,
beyond all else before, you lead and teach
I follow willingly, giddy and blissful
My Master, I worship. I love.

Accepted. It's easy to fly off the handle through misunderstandings. I've done it myself!

a fruitcake and a wino

you know, no? yes, yes

wind and wined
on my mind
tutti-frutti
you're a beauty
worry weary
don't you see
won't you marry
a fruitcake and wino
like me?
