Lucy had the kind of life she had always wanted, she had a man who loved her for who she was and was hoping one day to have children. He was everything to her and wanted to make sure nothing happened to him. She had a lot of strange dreams about fire and wasn't to sure why but it didn't really bother her that much. She felt the most pain in her hands and her back, she had no idea what it meant and she went to the doctors and they didn't know what was wrong with her, she was worried something was going on and she wouldn't find the answer before it was to long. And when it came down to it she was hiding her fear from her husband and she knew that she needed to tell him, but she was terrified he would be on the side of the doctors, but now was the time she needed to do something.

She didn't know what was going to happen but she needed to talk to her husband, so she decided to sit him down after work, she had a nice dinner out and since it was just them she put candles all over the place trying to be romantic, something she wasn't great at. Lucy did have his favorite dish since he loved a thick steak. She dressed in a black cocktail dress and was all dolled up. She had some music in the back ground and was humming around trying to not be afraid. He was everything to her and her him so she was hoping he had an open mind, but as she waited for him her hands seemed to hurt really bad along with her back it felt like something was going to burst through her shoulder blades. Sighing she gripped her hands tight and closed her eyes grunting as the pain was hurt as hell. But she heard him open up the door so she forced away the pain best she could and walked out like nothing was wrong.

Dane sighed as he finally got home after a dull and monotonous day at work. He was fine with just the cubicle work but he had to attend meetings after meetings, which was the worse. All he wanted to do now was just to site on the couch and watch some South Park. As he opens the door, the first thing he noticed was his beautiful wife in a hot black dress. she smiled at him happily and kissed him she sighed a little and didn't know what to say to him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and loved to see the shock on his face, confusion mixed in there a little bit. Right now she was just happy things were good between them, she motioned for him to sit and it was then her hands began to hurt again but she tried to ignore it, she sat down looking at her hands and growled very unhappy that much was for certain. Dane was the kind of guy who seemed to not like surprises sometimes, but perhaps she went around this the wrong way. She brought out the food and looked at him. "Just wanted to surprise you for once that's all" She said with a kind smile. Her hands were screaming at the same time but she tried so hard not to show it, she was getting tired of hurting so bad she just didn't know what to do, when it came down to it she just wanted a normal life with no pain. She poured them each a glass of red wine hoping the wine may stop the pain a little bit or at least make it dull.

"Umm...ok" Dane said, still not sure of all this. It was like Lucy was hiding something. But he still played along as he sits down. "Well I had a whole day of meetings to deal with so that was fun" Dane said sarcastically. "I'm just glad to get home..especially to all this" Dane said, holding Lucy and kissing her on the lips. She knew that he knew that she was up to something, she sipped her drink and sighed a bit "In truth I did all this as a thank you for every time you have supported me, I know Ive been difficult off and on but you have always had a good heart. Dane got worried, letting Lucy sit on his lap. He did heard that she visited the doctors for pain but he figured it was just stress and the matter was dropped. He didn't realized she was still feeling pain. "Hun....I'm so sorry...." Dane said, hugging her and petting her back gently. "You're not crazy...I'm sure whatever this is will pass." Dane said, trying to calm her down. In truth, he wasn't sure what all this means....but then he realized something else.

He heard rumors of humans having fits of pain before gaining some sort of power that ranged from simple to god-like. Could this be what was happening to Lucy? "Lucy...when did this start happening?" Dane asked kindly.

She was grateful that he was so kind for her, and looking at him she smiled feeling how gentle he was with her. And when he asked her that question it was a good point, she thought about it for a moment and sighed softly. "This pain has been with me about a month, comes and goes but comes in the morning Ive noticed. It's in my hands mostly but sometimes I feel it against my whole back" She said softly. "Why do you ask?"

"Just wandering...But Lucy..don't hid something like this from me. What would have happened if you got really hurt and I wouldn't have known what happened to you" Dane said as he pets her as she sits on his lap.

Dane also realized that Lucy's pain fits were the same time the metahumans started appearing. Most likely...she WAS going to have powers soon. What they will be or how powerful Lucy will be...he didn't know.

She looked at him "I know but after being drilled by five different doctors telling me I need to see someone because nothing was wrong with me, I know your my husband your different but still. I was just hoping it would go away on its own, because frankly it's driving me nuts and I feel like I am going to go insane"

Dane sighed, not knowing what to tell Lucy as he pets her. "How about you get some rest..." Dane suggested. "MAybe it'll help. I'll be right up" Dane said to her with a reassuring smile.

She nodded to him and kissed him, she was walking up the stairs and once inside she just collapsed onto the ground, something was very wrong and she cried out her hands and back hurting so much, she thought she could hear her bones shifting and reforming.

Dane gasped, hearing something dropping. "Lucy?" Dane called out in worry. He heads upstairs and sees his wife on the floor in pain. "Oh my God" Dane said out as he quickly carries her to the bedroom, laying her on the bed. "Honey...I'm here" Dane said, holding her hand. He reaches for the phone, about to call 911

Dane said to her after so many minutes of screaming. Dane didn't know if it was safe to get near her.

She got up off the bed and went to the mirror, a mutant stared at her and she had no idea what to do any more, she felt sad and the fire surrounding her went from red to blue a cool blue one that didn't bounce off any heat. She didn't know what to do with herself , but her wings folded over her like a cape and she collapsed onto her knees.
