Tikara... Daughter of Khonsu Lady of the underworld. Her mother a mystery that even Ra will not reveal. She knows the dreams thoughts and hopes of those that have died. Every deity has a sect or tribe of people who worship them and serve them most having a select few of this people who remain in the palace with them. Ra had his sons assemble those sects or tribes of people who were in need of a deity. It was time for Tikara to leave the underworld and dwell in the realm of the living in the great palace and see where those who she helps on the other side come from. Ra had decreed that all of the young Gods and Demigods dwell in the great palace for a minimum of one year.

His people... A collection of remnants of various tribes left from the mortal wars and warlords before the. God's intervened. He was the heir to the tribal "kingdom" they had created together for themselves and his father had sent him to the great city with offerings and examples of the many things their tiny kingdom could do in hopes that one of the young deities would choose them.

Tikara daughter of the Ancient Egyptian God Khonsu. Her mother a mystery though the Gods have their suspicions. Even Thoth does not hold the answer to this riddle.

She stood with the Lunar Gods and Goddesses as well as those that dealt with death the afterlife. Her father Khonsu known as the devourer of hearts. His payment for guiding the pharaohs through the underworld to slay lesser "gods" and gain the power to be reborn.

Osiris had spoken it was time that she spend time away from the darkness and shadows and live among the other Gods and her father agreed. Ra stood watching a sly smile on his face curious who would seek the young goddess eye or heart.

As he called each the great voice of Osiris boomed out as he made his way along the list of the young Gods and Goddesses now to dwell in the sacred temple.

TIKARA... DAUGHTER OF KHONSU.

Tikara took a step forward to Osiris and offered a bow before looking warily to those gathered around. The depths of the underworld were her home and all the bright light and life unnerved her. It was a far different energy from the thoughts hopes and dreams of those in the underworld.

She had met a handful of representatives from various tribes and most she had not been comfortable with. From the most overly blood and war to those that leered at her if such a way to make her skin crawl.

Then he was brought before her. There was a calm... A peace maybe about him. He was different than the others. They had all come before her with expectations and preconceived plots. He... He seemed genuine.

Thomek had traveled for weeks with his small party through the unforgiving dessert to reach the great palace. They had reached their destination yesterday at nightfall. The priest he had presented himself to had seemed unimpressed with his apearence, or his claim to be the heir to a tribe. They had been brought to the guest quarters and were allowed to bathe and rest. Now he was feeling clean and well rested for the first time in weeks but feeling more unsure of his mission whith the minute. The guest quarters were overflowing with heirs, kings, emperors and high priests, all had come to beg for the favor of a deity. Why would he be chosen, over all these others? He was busy inspecting his Sabre for any damage resulting from the dessert sands when there was a knock at the door. An enormous eunuch enterd and gave a curt bow. "You will be brought before the godess Tikara, prepare yourself." Looking at the sabre he added: "No weapons are to be brought into the Great Palace, leave it here." Thomek stood, straightened himself and took a deep breath. "You are the heir now," his father had told him, standing at the grave of his older brother, who had been claimed by the last skirmishes of the war, "you must show the gods we are worthy of their protection. resigning himself to his fate, Tomek followed the eunuch to the entrance of the Great Palace. The guest quarters had been more beuatifully crafted than his fathers stronghold, buth the splendour of the interiour of the Great Palace awed him. The Eunuch led him along a corridor lined with gliphs, telling the history of the gods. He stopped before a bronze double door, big enough to allow entrance to an elephant with rider. The Eunich entered, hit the flor with his wooden staf and with a loud voice announced: "Thomek, heir to the throne of the city state of Kish" Tomek walked into the room. A bright light shone from the altar, blinding him to all else except the silouette in front of it. He could feel hundreds of eyes on him. immortal judging eyes. He fell on his knees in front of the altar, and, as protocol demanded, waited to be adressed.

You... Do not need to kneel like that...

Tikara's voice finally spoke as she watched him. She waved away the unich and the other aids milling about. She grew so tired of the brightness and missed that she could not hear her dead as well here in the great palace.

What is your name and why should a lunar underworld goddess choose your people?

Suprised, Thomek slowly rose fom his kneeling position, as he saw the godess dismiss her servants and dimming the bright light. As she watched them clearing the room, he had a short chance to take in her appearence. At first glance, she looked like a beautiful young woman, astonishingly beautiful. There was however an unearthly apearance about her, as he might have expected from a godess. As soon as the door of the hall closed behind the last servant, she looked himin the eye, and he wondered if he was being rude with looking back, but also didn't think she wanted him to lower his eyes to the ground again.

"My name is Thomek..."he faltered, to late he realised he did not know how to politely adress a godess, this was not going well at all. "....my lady. The people of Kish, my people, they are in great need. The wars have destroyed much, so we have built and sown, worked and harvested. and when the fruits of our work were ready, other people came and tried to take it away again. Many people died..." He saw a vision of his brother, trying to fend of three attackers in front of a burning field. "We fought them of, my lady, but we are tired of war. The attackers worshiped their gods of fire and fury, and our temple felt the more empty for it. They have sent me to beg your favour, my lady, for the moon controls the floods of the river that fertilize our land, and all have given loved once in your care." He showed her the offer he had brought. A carved wooden box filled with dates from last harvest. "What have little wealth to offer my lady, but we offer our devotion to she who takes care of those we have lost"

She remembered the cobbled mass that had passed through the lands before she was ordered for her year in the great palace by Ra. Their dreams and hopes still touched her mind.

You are not like the others seeking their own diety to worship and follow. You... You hold no hidden agenda nor any other "expectations"... I... I accept this... And... Your people.

She smiled to him. A hand maiden had remained off in a corner finally spoke.

Your father will be most pleased that you have found a people you deem worthy and that they have not brought you discomfort with their presence nor minds. M'lady. I will inform the others while you speak with your new follower.

She smiled bowing to the young man as she left the chamber leaving them alone but not before stating.

The path to the palace catacombs will be empty within the hour M'lady... I believe they will not mind you retreating to the shadows for a bit now.

Thomek thought he saw a hint of compasion and pain pass over her eyes as he mentioned the loved ones his people had lost, and maybe a tear? But the moment passed. Then she spoke, and a great burden seemed to fall of his shoulders, all the doubts of the past few weeks taken away by her acceptence of his people.
"Thank you, my lady..." He was at a loss for words to express his gratitude. "...I will send word to my people, there will be festivities in the streets of Kish.
As the last handmaiden left the room, he was not sure what to say to this godess to express what he felt right now. She seemed so in power, but at the same time uncomfortable with the situation she was in. Hoping the relief and gratitude showed on his face. he bowed his head and stated: "As heir to the worldly throne of your city, my lady, I am at your service, for ever and always."

She smiled glad to hear that soon she could escape to darker areas. The brightness and life of the grand palace almost caused her physical pain. Turning her attention back to Thomek she smiled.

I am unused to the bright light and life around this palace and realm. What do you wish to know about Me?
