To the old crew and new crowd, Hello!

Stopping by to share good news, our publication Lotus Blooms Journal is now in its second volume. Thanks to our founding members and friends like Wicked Eve, Katpurrs and Redwave, we have had an incredible first year!!!!

Take The A Train

Besides the journal and the garden where the works are nurtured, I've returned to school, moved to new digs, still in love and my kids keep me crazy.

I started a program to promote literacy in schools and happy to share we donated 45 books to our first recipient.

I spend more time promoting poets than writing poetry, but I hope to change that this year. Fingers crossed, I'll attend a summer program at the Denver Institute of Publishing.

Hi d. I can see why you don't have time to write. There's a lot going on at Lotus. I've been stopping by the last couple of days and it will take a week to catch up on all the activities. I like the oriental theme you have this month - very attractive.

I'm afraid I can be quite manic. At Lotus, poets will find 12 forums:

2 for posting general or erotic poetry

1 forum for workshop. Themed exercises & resource center for upcoming zine issue.

2 forums for entries for outside contests we partipate in

1 forum is our online library: book exchange, publishers' listings, Books For Kids (our literacy program) and online reference sources

1 forum for poetry forms

1 for "Holding Poems"

1 for general discussion

1 for prose

1 for "Genesis" the evolution of a poem (journaling the writing process

1 for "Potpourri" quizzes and trivia

Poets win collections for reaching posting benchmarks, contests and Potpourri drawing.

Our book exchange allows poets to swap books.

The ezine is published monthly.

We have open house every Sunday & Wednesday so we try to make sure visitors are comfortable.

Yeah, we're busy. We're small, but close. Always glad when you're there.
