Lost five star votes.

I don't know what happened, but suddenly all of my stories lost about five to six votes across the board, and dropped all of my ratings down. I've lost all of my "hot" statuses.

I'm not sure who to talk to for help on this.

Sorry, Lit, but from my point of view the vote sweep got massively out of control. Today's washed away immensely more than in the previous month which already hurt a lot. Therefore, why should anyone (new) post anything here if you end up with empty hands after a few months because all votes have become suspicious?

I'm considering...Turned off voting completely, it has lost all meaning.

Don't worry about it. It cuts the same way for everyone, thus every one gets the same cuts - so what's left means relatively the same for everyone. Thus, votes have the same meaning as they always did - the opinions of one in one hundred readers. That's not even remotely representative.

Having figured out, I'm pretty sure, how the sweeps work, consider this - if your previous score included vast numbers of trolling ones and equally vast numbers of not helpful fives, and they've all gone, isn't what's left the genuine votes in the middle? That's how I look at - don't be seduced by the bullshit votes you get in the first month, be content with those that are left in the second.

Nobody. The site runs algorithms regularly to remove doubtful votes. Everybody gets swept.

Unfortunately it's the 1*s that remain and the fives that are lost. Not to mention I've got the feeling that more votes have been swept than were given by readers since the last sweep on some older works. So, waiting some more months, they would be down to 1.0?

For people that haven't acquired hundreds of loyal followers over the past years it's certainly demotivating. A friend lost 40 of 50 votes, I haven't seen this way of sweeping in the first half of 2020.

I had a recent story that had only two votes - and both were 5.00. I didn't put them there nor did I ask anybody else to do it. But it looked extremely suspicious, so they got swept.

That's the way life goes sometimes.

Okay, I'm a newbie, but your statement doesn't seem logical to me. I've seen the work of trolls, guys who freak out if your Loving Wife character actually screws a guy other than her husband, and you get 1s just for that story element, regardless of how well you told your stories.
The idea that there would be just as many fives, and that they would be "not helpful" just doesn't ring true to me. People troll you with fives? And why wouldn't fives be helpful? I look at the 5-1 like A-F. I can give A's without each one meaning it's the very best ever; just really darn good. If you take away all the fives, then it's mathematically impossible to score above 4 on your average. Is that really what you want?
