Anise had risen. The sound of stone againts stone scraping tells of her movement.Moments later released from her slumber she stands alone on a dimly lit street.Yellow seprentine orbs gaze out from under her hooded cloak.Watching all with preternatural sight nothing escapes her gaze. The sudden flow of rain had begun causing all around to feel the wet cold that the storm brings. The humans pace quickens as many desire to head inside to escape the chill.Turning slowly she moves silently down the street her direction south towards the poor section of the city. Her hunt had begun. Also the desire to take this city as her own she fears none and walks along slowly to prove just that. Her thoughts filled with merriment" Let the opposers come.Let them taste my fury.It has been so long since i have had fun of any kind.Spotting a man leading a rather shabily dressed prostitute towards a hotel nearby Anise chuckles.Slowly giving way to mist form she flows ahead of then to take refuge within the darkened alleyway. When the couple passes by shadows flow from the alleyway to wrap around the humans legs.Anise holding the ends of the etheral tendrils gives one easy tug.The humans fall to the ground then their forms slide along the pavement to dissapear into the alleys inky blackness.Several shrieks of fear later the sound of flesh being ripped from bone sounds off.Finishing quickly Anise steps from the alleyway as she runs her tongue across blood soaked lips to cleanse the last of meals.Slowly slipping away to find a new refuge she had done the first part of her plans. The bodies found several days later are closed cases to just another serial killer with a taste for the act of canabilism and grave dismemberment.

IC:

I toy with her, grinning widely as I see the shock of recognition cross her face.

"Yes, my sweet. Yes, now you realize, do you not? No, do not run. No, I need all of your blood, and all of your soul."

The girl quivers, but my power holds her still, my force of will enthralls her.

She is pretty, in a peasant sort of way. Stocky, blonde, with pale blue eyes. Her blood runs out of the two bitewounds in little rivulets that stain the white blouse she wears. I ponder Turning this one. She might make a good ally.

No, the City is too new to me. I don't wish to have a fledgling under my wing.

I lick the blood from her skin, slowly, my tongue trailing up to the two puncture marks. I feel her shudder and I grin widely.

"Now, darkness takes the rest."

I suckle at her wound, feeling her blood and soul drain out of her body, mingling into mine. Fresh life, to maintain my unlife.

Yes, her innocence is shattered, her end is near. The last drops of blood are always the sweetest. She gasps, quivers helplessly in my mental grasp.

The last drop, last shred of human soul in her. I could turn her now. I could. Make her my Thrall. It is tempting. This plump one could make a pleasant pillow for my head while I hide from daylight. Her voice was musical, sweet and calming to me.

No.

I take her soul, her last blood. One final shudder, fluttering eyelids, and I feel her grow limp.

I kiss her lips slowly, sensually, leaving a stain of her own blood behind, and allow her to fall to the ground.

I leap up to the rooftops, and make my way from the alleyway where I fed. A pleasant hunt, delicious prey. Now, I can Enjoy the remainder of the night.

Garnet walked down the nearly abandoned street alone. She wore a black corset top with low slung black leather pants. A simple red silk bag hung from her shoulders.

She could feel them around her. Both the undead and the lycans. It was a feeling she'd inherited from her grandmother, among other things.

Her pace was neither hurried nor slow. She felt comfortable, as strange as it was. She was here to make money...or allies. Whichever it came to.

A lone woman. Pretty. Young. Trim. I sense power from this one, which explains her boldness. Quietly, I curse myself for my unluck in already feeding. This one would have made a superb thrall. She may yet. I have the time to wait.

I drop down to the shadow of the next alleyway. This one I must keep in my sights.

The crystal around Garnet's neck glowed with an unearthly blue light.

Vampire.

No matter. She had dealt with them before and would again in the future. She kept her pace, unsure of yet if the vampire was following her or just passing nearby.

She would wait. A hand clutching her pack.

Anise sensing two that are of interest moves towards their area.Reforming high up on a two story building her yellow serpentine orbs take notice of the woman walking alone.Tilting her head to the right her line of sight slowly drifts towards the other kindred.Letting a soft vexed hiss spill from red lips the image of bared fangs can be seen by any who have the power to spot her.Her thoughts reaching out towards the kindred." Halt....your actions...Such dishonarble motions of hunting." She snarls loudly more in hatred of what she thinks of wretched humans but will not take those that are inocent.Stuck in the old ways the old codes burned into her psych remain solid even after so long a span of life-

The Touch is strong. A very ancient kindred. I sneer, and let the expression carry through to her mind.

"I have already fed. No fears. Yet..." She allows contempt to course through the mental link ... "Perhaps I have a ... crack that I can fill."

"Greetings, child." My voice carries clearly to the lone woman on the street. I continue to watch her, hidden in the shadows.

Garnet spun around. Some part of her had heard the hiss, but couldn't recognize the importance. Her human eyes scanned the darkened streets that surrounded her.

Her heart thumped in her chest. Fear was beginging to take over and she fought to maintain control.

What is wrong with me? I walk these streets every night.

Then she heard the voice. Her crystal was hot to the touch now, glowing brightly with the light. She knew.

"Good evening."

Ooo can I play?

Her curiosity lead her to study criminal justice, law and to police work. She has risen over the years to the rank of detective. Currently she is assisting the detectives working on serial murder case.

"What is such a young one as you doing, so all alone on these streets tonight?"

I grinned. I had no plans to actually attack this one. Not tonight. Perhaps tomorrow night?

I suspected that I would see this one again. And the Powerful one ... This was largely to show her that I didn't fear her. I wasn't some "this millenium" Vampire after all.

Garnet eyed this strange vampress before her.

"My business is my own."

She never let her eyes leave the beautiful form before her. Friend or Foe? She was yet unsure.

"Unless you are interested in magic."

"Interested? Interested in magic? What need do I have of magic? No, child. No interest in magic. Just ... concern for the safety of one so young."

I smirk ironically.

"Yes, because your kind is so concerned with mine."

This vampress was new, she had never spoken with this one before.

"You may not find need with my magic, however others do, and woe be the one who uses one of my spells against you."

Interesting. She knew what I was. She showed no further fear toward me, after her initial shock. I was beginning to lose interest in her already.

"Woe to them? You speak in riddles. What do you mean? Do you think I fear what magics you posess? It is no matter. I have more pressing business to attend to. We shall meet again. Perhaps tomorrow night, we will have more time to ... discuss matters."

I smiled, took a step toward her, then suddenly converted the motion to a leap, over her head and onto the roof of a nearby building. Such small feats as that, made humans think we could fly. I grinned down at her.

"Til next we meet."

Then, I was off again, bounding across the rooftops.

Garnet ducked as the vampress dove over her. She glared up at the creature as it spoke to her while above her.

She never had gotten used to business with the undead. Her crystal now returned to barely glowing. Her knees grew weak and she sank to the cold ground in releif, only relaxing once her crystal grew dim.

The big black wolf padded slowy and quietly across the street, dodging from shadow to shadow, watching the young woman and the vampire with a bored sort of interest. Like she had nothing better to do. Which she didn't. She sighed, but as she was in wolf form it came out as a mixture between a snort, a yip and a growl, making an altogether strange sound. She scratched at her ear with a hind leg. She was hungry. Not for humans. For food. Meat, or a hamburger or something.

It was weird with her. Sometimes in her human form she wanted blood... Other times in her wolf form, she wanted salad... Most of the time she went unsatisfied. But seeing this young woman be unafraid of the vampire gave her confidence. She padded across the street, large as she was and sat herself down, staring up at the girl, with the characteristic puppy dog eyes and gave a pitiful whine and pawed at the girls pants. She was glad there was none of her kind around. What a verbal bashing she would cop to be seen begging for food from a human.

In a suprised way she looked down at the wolf. Her crystal had not been charmed to glow to reveal lycans, so she simply did not know if it was one or just a rather big looking dog. Although she had her suspicions.

But the puppy dog looks and the gentle pawing warmed her over. Reaching into her red bag Garnet pulled out her uneaten roast beef sandwich, unwrapped it and offered it to the creature.

"There you go."

I decided to Experience the sensual pleasures humans allowed themselves, and visited a night-club. The modern music never really interested me, but it certainly provided a good rhythm for the gyrations that they called "dance" in this century.

Male and female bodies pressed against mine as I danced, enjoying the feeling of so much Life so close, so ripe for the taking, had I desired it. This new City was very much to my liking. Before I was through, I would drain it of every drop of life I could.
