I must be getting old - I keep losing track of stories I like.
A man catches his wife having sex - I think it was with 3 guys working on their house, but I don’t quite remember. They also have a daughter in college. They divorce and he moves to a new neighborhood, where everybody helps each other out - one guy’s an accountant, another’s a lawyer, he’s going to be the handyman, the wife of the older couple cooks and bakes.
Within a very short time, he’s helping the older couple with a plumbing problem. The couple’s daughter shows up, and is very protective of her parents. Some of the other guys in the neighborhood call her the ice queen (I think). Anyway, after a couple of other repairs, she starts to warm up to him. She’s a little bitchy, because she caught her husband cheating on her in a bad way.
Then one weekend the daughter notices the new guy greeting and hugging a fairly pretty younger woman. She’s stomps angrily into her mom’s house. Her mom is giving her a hard time teasing her about the young woman and how much the guy loves her. She finally takes pity on her and tells her it his college aged daughter.
Things continue to progress well. They fall in love, get married, get pregnant. They then get to tease her mom about this parasite that she’s picked up that’s going to make her throw up and gain weight, etc.
All ends well.
