Okay, hockey fans. Now, it's our time of year. Fuck baseball, football, NCAA basketball, and all those other weenie sports. Let's talk NHL playoffs.

Tell me why you think your team has the remotest chance of unseating my Colorado Avalanche this year....

I figure there are only 6 teams with a realistic shot at it, but if you think otherwise, go ahead and say so.

No playoffs for me......Oilers just missed the cut......sad, because in the Eastern Conference they'da made it easy.

My team already died too.:(

I really don't give too much of a damn. My long-shot "bet" is on the Toronto Maple Leafs.:rose:

P.S. I printed the first round playoff schedules in my ongoing hockey faves thread.

Well I'm going with the Devils, as the (old) home-town favorite.

Eh Hem!

MY Colorado Avalanche has 100 percent of my support.....

Of course, that has bit me in the butt on one or two occasions!

:D

Other?!?!?!? Other?!?!?!?!

The Maple Leafs are without a doubt the best team coming out of the east. We finished second in the east despite not having our number one goalie(and MVP the last two years) for months! We'd have 110 points if Cujo was healthy. All the way, baby, All the way.

Well, I won't trash talk, but I will say that I HOPE that the Blues win, I don't know or think that they will win, but I HOPE they do.

It's always hard getting through the playoffs, especially for the Blues. Just becasue they are the current teams that's made it the most years in a row, doesn't mean squat.

Let's look at what one needs for a cup

Strong Playoff Goalie- Check
Inspirational Captain who can play great hockey- Check
Solid Blue Line- If Dimitri could come back that's a check
Gritty, hard-nosed veterans- Check, check and check
Firepower- Oh, you'd best believe it.

The Thirty Five year drought ends this year.

Weenie sports?? Since when is basketball a weenie sport?

The Red Wings, of course. The price of octopus is already skyrocketing around here.;)

It doesn't concern you that they're entering the playoffs playing such poor hockey?

No, because they haven't been playing at full strength. Does it concern you that they blew away the whole league in the regular season?;)

BTW, we ordered pizza the other day and it came with a complimentary Scotty Bowman bobblehead doll.

Not really, I don't have a problem with the idea of the Leafs skating by Murphy and Chelios. What I am concerned about is tripping over the Wheelchairs.

On the other hand, when they make a lifesize Brendan Shanahan bobbleass doll, I'm getting in line to buy one.

Regular season means NOTHING in the "playoff season". They can fall flat on their faces, or they can win every game.

Detroit played the Blues over the weekend, lost both games to them, it was like they weren't even trying to win, like their hearts weren't in it. Especially on Sunday. The Blues rested most of their big names, and the Wings STILL got their asses whoooooooped.

Maybe it was because they had nothing to lose or gain, but that's NOT good hockey, either way.
