Lord of the Rings Trailer

WOW ... it looks like the best film EVER :D

to match the best book ever :)

They also showed it last night during Angel
"World Premiere Event" (cheap play to get people to watch Angel, just to see the trailer, I watch Angel anyway!)

I've never read the books, but their on my list!
The movie looks really good though! (Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are the only movies I really want to see this winter)

you really have to read the books im not even that much into fantasy books but i loved it just paints such a wondeful world and a fantastic story you should try and read it before you see the film :)

Ohio, was the episode of Angel the premier for this season, I thought it wasn't supposed to air til the 9th of Oct....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I am gonna be pissed if I missed it.

I'm also looking forward to seeing both "Lord Of The Ring" and "Harry Potter" quite a bit.

I've just recently started to read Harry Potter, but once I had read the first book, I also bought the last 3, and read the 3rd book rather quick! lol

So far I really like the trailers I've seen to both movie, so it'll be great to and watch them!

It was the season-opener! I'm counting the days until Buffy returns.

I read all three Lord of the rings books earlier this year and loved them, I've read the Hobbit about four times and I'm looking forward hugely to the film, I've seen one trailer and I'm going to dodge as much stuff about the film as possible so as not to spoil it.

Isn't Harry Potter the best? :D I have all 4 books and have read 1-3 (I'm spacing them out so that I won't have to wait so long for the 5th one, which won't be out til probably summer of 2002!!!!)

yes DCL ... its ALOT better too ... its just out today the official site to get the trailer was down because of demand and this is one of the only "mirrors" that you can get it from :)

I am looking forward to the Lord of the Rings movie but I am slightly scared because in the past fantasy movies tend to flop. Dungeons And Dragons looked good and it turned out to be a medevil Star Wars. The Lord of The Rings story itself is good so I have high hopes.

I've seen the trailer, and I'm getting more excited about this movie with each passing day.

As far as being worried... I think this is gonna be on an entirely different plane from D&D. If I'm not totally and absolutely blown away by it, I'll be very disappointed. It looks that good!

Yes those books are indeed a great read! Even for adults I think! I've laughed quite a bit when I've been reading them, that's for sure!

I read The Hobbit and then the Trilogy books for the first time when i was a teenager, and have read them all (plus The Silmarillion) every 5-10 years since then. I'm *keenly* anticipating this movie, and just as apprehensive.

Fantasy movies *do* tend to flop.
Because they're often so rich in exacting narrative detail, something movies don't habitually do a very good job of translating onto the screen, we're often left feeling like the movie version of the book is wildly lacking.

I'm afraid that will be rue for the LOR, too. How can it not? How can the moviemakers *possibly* get onto the screen the incredible richness and detail that makes these books so alive to a reader?

OTOH, if we relax and don't expect the whole, real LOR to unfold up on the screen before our wondering eyes, we may find this ride, though abbriviated by book standards, is enthralling in its own way.

Personally, i'm really looking forward to seeing what the moviemakers did with the Ents. Animatronics? No, no, no... don't answer that!

I'm avoiding the LOR trailers and reading info about the production like it'd poison my eyeballs if i saw them. I already know the story. I've read all the books over and over. Why do i want to see the trailer and have some of the surprises ruined?
