Well good evening to all here. What a day. This thread seems to have died down a bit and normal interaction has resumed. Shame on those who derailed the thread yesterday.

There was some talk about cliques and the effect that the new Lit format has on interactions. I do think the thread limit slowed chaotic posting in some way. I think the ability to like and react to posts is a very useful tool, though I like it at times. I think the constant notifications is probably the worst addition, even if it does offer a way to keep track of threads you might otherwise forget about.

If you had the ability or option to change the way Lit interacts, what would you change? What would you like to see go away? What would you like to see more of? Do you miss the “old days” of Lit that people talk about? Do you like it as is?

I really have not thought much about the site changes aside from not being a fan initially. I'm a luddite. New tech is uninteresting to me, which means I tend to do things on autopilot. Having to actually pay attention and learn a new setup is not my favorite.

The lack of thread limit hasn't garnered my attention, but the notifications have pros and cons. It's nice to track replies to posts, but it does rather seem to have kicked up the posting to frenzy levels. The increased message capacity is nice as well.

What would I change? Hmm. I, honestly, have no idea.

Speaking of dick everywhere; I don't miss the prolific use of cocks in old lit avatars. I'm glad they're gone.

I liked the old forum better. The notifications only came when you refreshed your screen, so there were pregnant pauses with posting. It didn't feel as instantaneous which helped keep things feeling calm. And funnier. At least for me.

Posting pictures also changed. I really miss the ability to manage my attachments from a dashboard. That was a safety concern for me because I preferred to upload photos to lit. That way only users could look, and the barrier to create an account felt like enough friction for me to get comfortable sharing.

What would I bring back?

I enabled notifications for PMs, but we didn’t have tagging. I rarely tag anyone; just not in the habit. And I am rarely tagged because I am not around much. I don’t mind notifications for reactions, though

The GB definitely required a particular constitution. You had to have a thick skin and let things roll off or you'd get destroyed. It was a hell of a lot of fun, though. I speak in past tense because I doubt I'll go back these days. The Playground is definitely more my vibes these days.

I do miss the poor innocent n00bs coming in guns blazing looking for sex and getting absolutely annihilated over there. It was entertaining. I do have a very morbid sense of humor though.

I always wanted the thread creators to have control over the thread, not the moderators. I’ve been saying that for years.

What would you like to see go away?

Giant pics or gifs in the signature area. My brain can’t deal with that.
Also, the autocorrect fucking blows on Lit! It fights me on every keystroke.
