As I've mentioned in other posts, Obama is going to spend the next few months trying to fight off any suggestion that he might actually be black or liberal.

Of course, McCain, who keeps talking about how free he is of special interest groups, was a very prominent figure at AIPAC.

It's probably going to be the political equivalent of a game of limbo -- which candidate can disavow the most unsettling principles -- not a campaign of let's slug it out on the issues and offer a clear choice, but let's blur any differences, avoid any hint of controversy, and assume that our "real" supports will think that we "really" will do all those things that we swear up and down that we would never, never do.
