Looks Like Two More Carriers Could Be On Their Way To Korea

What is the point of all this? NK has the bomb, but they can only deliver it by horse-drawn wagon. We can afford to ignore NK.

What is the use of a massive military if you're not going to use it? What better way to deflect from domestic issues than inflate foreign ones? What better way to compensate for tiny 'hands' than fire off big huge missiles?

The day an American POTUS slashes military spending and announces a 50% cut in the size of the military you will have an America first isolationist president.

I don't think we can ignore them, but I would agree it may be time to dial it back a notch.

The only problem here is that Kim is crazy, like his father and grandfather before him. Otherwise, we would have nothing to worry about, because he knows very well that there is no war he can start that would not be regime suicide. But he might at some point go too crazy to let that stop him.

The reason he is what he is today is because every president since Clinton has ignored the Norks.

And in hindsight that was the right policy. No war so far. Just sit back and wait for the regime to crumble, and if it never does, that still matters less than avoiding war. Of course NK couldn't win it, but large numbers of Koreans North and South would not survive it, and Seoul might be largely destroyed by NK's long-range artillery.

It was never the "right policy" to sit back and let those mentally disturbed idiots develop nuclear weapons.

If he's crazy he wouldn't be worried, would he?

Oh, some crazy people worry, all right. There are many kinds and many degrees of crazy. In a Kim's case, it probably comes partly from growing up in an environment where nobody ever dares contradict him, but that doesn't mean Jong-un does not know what it is to worry -- he must have worried for his life over the matter of the succession, until it was finally settled in his favor.

I don't give a shit. Someone needs to blow him up and the sooner the better.

If you can rig up a way to blow him up without hurting anyone else, I will push the button -- just as soon as I make sure that whoever is next in line for the throne is not even worse.

Mhmmmm.

Or a sub.

Or ICBM that they have and will have working in the worst case 10 years.

But sure....

Not our problem. You will probably be dead. Let's just put it off.

We can and should do that -- for now. Again, if NK gets a nuclear-launch-capable sub or a missile that works, we'll see that coming a long way off and have plenty of time to formulate the least worst response. You don't think the CIA has any assets in NK? I doubt even the first successful bomb test caught them by surprise, although for obvious reasons their intel wasn't something they would announce publicly.

Again, not a problem for US to deal with. Not now. Not in the 50s.

If China and Japan are worried, let them deal with it.

Let's try to avoid that. China still has a huge grudge against Japan from WWII, and Japan, unlike Germany, has never apologized for its war crimes (and what the Japanese did in China was at least as bad as what the Germans did in Russia, and had a comparable body count), they couldn't cooperate on anything without running up against that, and it could get really nasty really fast. And if Japan tries to do it alone (an effort for which they are absolutely not prepared, having no military forces to speak of), or if (the far better prepared) SK tries, China will feel obliged to intervene on the other side, even though to them NK is this crazy embarrassing relative.

Tag or drop dime onthe fucker and use a Stealth Drone Who can say why he went BOOM!

One thing we do know...He will have to try very fucking hard to be crazier!

The day an American POTUS slashes military spending and announces a 50% cut in the size of the military you will have ...

... a new world leader. He will be Chinese, and allied with North Korea.

After the recent NATO meeting I learned that the combined defense spending of all the other countries in the alliance, without the USA, is less than what China spends on theirs.

If you think the white man is bad... Well, lets just read this quote from Michael Sata, former president of Zambia.

“We want the Chinese to leave and the old colonial rulers to return. They exploited our natural resources too, but at least they took good care of us. They built schools, taught us their language and brought us the British civilisation…at least Western capitalism has a human face; the Chinese are only out to exploit us.”

I've lost track. What were people saying that Obama should have done about North Korea that he didn't do? And do you think that Trump is about to do that thing?
