Looking younger

I don't get asked my age, because I still look like I'm not a minor, but people are shocked when they find out I'm 40. They normally think I'm about 10 years younger.

People assume I am younger then I am.. I think it's the baby face with pudgy cheeks that makes me look like a Cabbage Patch Doll.. no surprise they nicknamed me "The Cambells Kid" in HS for the same reason...

I got carded at an outdoor jazz festival 2 years ago, and I'll be 40 in September. It's an ego boost when you're older...it kinda sucks when you're young.

No, no one asked me how old I am but I have a lot of comments saying that I don't look like a 38yo. Most figured I'm in my late 20's, it's a nice compliment but sometimes it irked me *LOL*

use to I had trouble even getting a lottery ticket. So I let my beard grow out alittle. After they all knew me I shaved good.

i got carded for buying "sling blade" (the movie, not the actual implement) at wal-mart in 1998. i was 27 at the time.

paranoid schmucks.

People are generally shocked to learn that I have an 18 yr old son. I like telling them I had him when i was 10. :)

Yeah, and I answer by asking "So, how much do you weigh?"

I too have experienced this. I'm starting to think I might have one of those baby-faces or something. I don't know. I always felt like I was older than I looked, but I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Yeah, our Wal-Mart's pretty paranoid, too. I bought some adult beverages recently and thought it was really great that I was carded--until my husband burst my bubble by telling me that EVERYBODY is carded, even if there's no way in hell they look underage.

I'm 31, for what it's worth.

At least my parents are almost everytime thought much yunger than they are. Poeple think "we kids" are about 12 and 6, but I'm allready 21... :D

A Friend of mine asked me, if me or my brother is the younger one... My brother is almost 3 years younger...

I think it's mostly because of the beard. A beard makes you look at least 5 years older, around 20 and even more later...

Stefani, you remind me of Molly Shannon gorgeous pics :)

Sadly yes, Im 20, and I look like I am 16. I have a job were I have to manage people who are old than me, and they really dont take kindly having to take orders from someone who looks like they are still in high school. Right now it really sucks, but in ten years it would matter I hope.

That's not necessarily true. I work at Wal-Mart and I don't card EVERYONE. I only card those I don't think are as old as they want me to believe, which is RARELY. I haven't worked at the cigarette register yet, but I have carded for movies and games as well as paints, super glue, and whatever else that is age-restricted. I have to say I have pissed off some kids because of this, but it's my job. I recently heard they will be passing a bill/law in my state that makes it a federal offense or something to that effect if store associates sold age restricted movies and games to underaged people.

Maybe not at your Wal-Mart, but at mine, it's been the case, at least with alcohol and tobacco products. The other day I heard a cashier explain to a disgruntled, beer-buying senior citizen that she had to card him because she has to card everyone. Apparently some things were sold to people that shouldn't have had access to them. Overkill, perhaps, but that's what they've been doing here. :)

My husband's 47, and while he does look younger than that, he still gets carded every time he buys alcohol at Wal-Mart.

That is really weird. Far as I'm concerned, you HAVE to be carded when purchasing alcohol if you look younger than 27. At least in this state, that is how it is. Only time we don't card people is if we know who they are and they're regulars.
