I say yes, just because it's a widely liked thing doesn't make it not a fetish.
Could you consider any aspect of focus outside of regular sex(p in v) a fetish?
I was just being cheeky, but the common usage of the word "fetish" connotes something with at least some degree of unusualness. A guy saying he's into anal is about as unusual as a guy saying he's into boobs. Actually, it's more usual, accounting for the homosexual sector.

No.. I think you need to review what fetish means: "a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc."
The only thing 'unusual' about a fetish is the strength of feeling it evokes, not what it relates *to*.
I am familiar with the technical definition of the word. I specifically stated that I meant as it is commonly used.

I have to agree with ElijaRDC though. Whether part of the "technical definition" or not, the term "fetish" definitely connotes an unusual-ness when used, at least for most people here in the U.S.. (If you don't agree, do a random, unbiased sampling of your friends and family and judge the results yourself.)
Whether the vernacular usage of a word is in line with its dictionary definition doesn't seem like the discussion Mike was going for when he started this thread. However, I don't think anal is really a fetish for the reasons previously stated. He could however have an ass fetish I think - if he is attracted to women's asses more than any other part of their body. Just like he could have a boob fetish or foot fetish or hair fetish or bondage fetish, etc. But saying he's into fucking women in the ass and calling it a fetish is like saying he likes to fuck vaginas and calling that a fetish.
Now, girls who like it in the butt - you might be able to say THEY have a fetish because not all girls do. But that's just going to get all you technical definition people upset all over again and it doesn't help me find out which, if any, of you pervs are going to get down on the floor and beg at my feet for me to be nice to you
