You

You are a talented erotica writer who specializes in realism and has the bandwidth and discipline to handle large scope (10-20k words) which necessitate regular updates. Ideally you'd also enjoy fetishes such as blackmail, forced exhibitionism, humiliation, depravity, etc, portrayed in a plausible/realistic manner (e.g. https://www.literotica.com/s/mom-gets-strip-searched), or at least know how to portray those fetishes in a natural (not comic-book-style) light.

My Background

I'm an erotica writer who has had commercial success collaborating with 3dcg artists (https://www.patreon.com/johnAndRich), and personally written popular erotica within the fetish/niche described above (https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=3279254&page=submissions and https://www.deviantart.com/johncbb/gallery/). For quite selfish reasons, I wish there were more of the kind of content linked above, and thus am opening this proposal to find new creators to widen the breath and depth of the genre.

Proposal

You'll receive a baseline and recurring revenue of $300/month. In exchange, I ask that you create eroticas inspired by authors such as George VI on literotica. The exact details will be up to you, as long as the style, themes, and fetishes are similar to stories which I will share.

Financials

Starting baseline $300/month of recurring revenue.

Next Steps

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, ping me here.

The number of stories will vary depending on length and the writer's bandwidth, I'd say averaging 1 to 3.

The stories will be owned by the writer (not me). They can publish them here, they can publish them on pay-for sites, entirely up to them. This isn't a ghostwriting grab to make money, I genuinely want more of the kind of stories available for myself and for anyone else.

Vetting/standards will be set by myself and happy to discuss in detail exactly what we're after, including expected quality/output.

Payments can be made through a variety of means, but typically I ask if the writer has a Patreon page, and if not to set one up (and can help them if need be). I then support them through their Patreon page as anyone else would. This also allows other supporters to come in.

There will be no formal contract. Will start small to see how well we work together, and then from there it'll be mostly on trust. Some payment will be upfront and I'll take a share of the risk in that trust-based relationship. Again, looking for something long-term here.

And, lastly, can a mod tell me if a proposal like this breaks forum rules?

I'm not a mod, but assume one will be here eventually to do some trimming. The whole "go someplace else other than here" is against the rules, as is posting of e-mail addresses.

No, the stories you write under this commission will be owned by you, not me.

Talk to us about licensing stories we've already written and can maybe be rewritten.

John, bit of advice here... you removed your contact from your post as advised, but you really need to open your Private Messages if you expect anyone here to contact you to discuss your proposal. You can do that by going to your User CP and selecting that option which will allow others to private message you here on Lit. In PMs, you can then exchange other methods of contact, such as emails or whatever you require.

I did get curious enough to read one of your posted stories. It was well written actually. Nice work!

Thank you! I received a few emails but was curious why no one was messaging here - 'had no idea I had that setting off. Much much appreciated, holliday.

You're very welcome. It's what I do. Lurk and try to help where I can. :rose:

Frankly I'm a perplexed and disturbed a the responses to this kind request. The OP likes a certain kind of story. He is simply asking for an author willing to focus their interests in that area, and he his willing to pay. How else would one incentive authors to write a story you would like to read?

Perhaps the OP could sponsor a writing contest?

I'm not sure either...

A writing contest is an interesting idea! Most of the writers I've communicated with are fairly off in their first one or two attempts, and then hit the mark on the third. I think this is because the kind of content I'm after, and exampled in the earlier linked stories, is rare and not really explored even in the noncon fetish. So, I guess my worry in the writing contest is it'll be a lot of misses. But, perhaps that's just on me to properly craft the expectations and what a winning example looks like. Hmmm, anyway, really cool idea. Do you happen to know some good venues for running a contest like that? For example, would it be in this subboard?

The story files here are open to anyone wanting to read them. The best way to hire writers is to peruse the open files and pitch directly to writers you have found meet your needs (I've been pitched twice from Literotica files and I believe others here have been as well). It's not to blindly ask people to contact them from unknown expertise/talent.

Someone, admittedly a newbie, offers $$$ if you are willing to redirect your work to the area he like. considering the # or authors with patreons or trying to sell on Amazon, i would think this would be warmly received. how many copies would you have to sell to get to $300? Yet the response was remarkably tepid.

It seems that there are few authors that hit his area of interest: "I wish there were more of the kind of content linked above..." so looking at the existing active authors might not work. I, too, bemoan the retirement of so many of my favorite authors and would love to see more stories like Couture or krr1957 wrote but have no idea of how to incentivize this. I would be interested to see if the OP has any success, and I wish him well.

Not even a contest. Organize an event on Literotica similar to the “One Night in XXX” event - you’ll see a thread for it here. HeyAll is doing another one, “On the Job.” PM me if you think it might be an option and we can chat about it.

Indeed, as A Stuffed Shirt said, there aren't any authors I've come across which I'd like to reach out to to offer commission work because no authors are creating stories like those mentioned above anymore... Hell, if there were such authors I wouldn't feel the need to make this offer!

Chloe, going to look into "One Night in XXX" now to understand how it works.

As for success from this post (and posts in other communities in which I participate), I've spoken to about 10-15 authors, 10-or-so of which have written a short vignette as a sample of their work, and 2-3 of which I've since invested in at $300/month as a result of the sample they wrote.

Most Lit authors do this as a hobby, and few branch out into the world of poorly-paid written porn as a side gig. As much fun as it can be to create these stories, many times life gets in the way and hobbies take a back seat.

Requiring 1-3 stories a month at 10k-20k words each, and Patreon, makes it seem like a job. OP, like you said, this niche isn’t represented much. I’ve got a few in progress along these lines, but I also enjoy writing other themes. Up to 60k words a month, polished up, completed works, would be hard.

I enjoy money, like most people do, and I enjoy writing smut, but I don’t know that I could commit to something like this, even if I wrote what interested you. Not long term.

This is your proposal and your cash, so it’s your rules. My humble comment would be that maybe you might find more responses with piecemeal offerings.

Your proposal looks cool, and tempting, and even though there is plenty of room for abusing the need for trust, I hope it works for you. Good luck!

That is a really good point. And, having bought erotica for pay, and read plenty of erotica for free, I've found that those who write as a hobby or for personal pleasure produce higher quality work than those who write for pay (within this narrow niche of erotica writing). The best stories I've ever read can be accessed for free.

Nevertheless, I just don't think I'm going to find people to write for free. At least, haven't had any luck yet. If such people exist, I believe they would be writing these kind of works and publishing them here on literotica already.

Of course, you still have a good point which is that $300/month, or there arounds, can place a lot of pressure on someone who may be mildly interested. I might edit the OP, but for now I want to say that if anyone, anyone at all, is sincerely interested regardless of commitment, please reach out to me. We can work out whatever arrangement works best for you.

Your issue, then, is to find a writer who shares your kink. As you say, it's a narrow niche, and if a writer isn't interested in it themselves, I can't see that a few hundred bucks a month is going to change that.

I'd have thought you'd have better luck finding someone who is already writing the content you like, and approaching them directly.

Agreed, it's a longshot. Surprisingly it's so far working better than I expected. Albeit we're just getting started, as I mentioned earlier, 'already invested in 2-3 writers who have produced good samples-of/homages-to the stories above.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any writers who are currently writing the kind of content I mentioned, and I've been searching on an almost daily basis for years.

I'm not sure I follow...
Read what has been written to find stories and authors that meet your standards. If a work is good enough for you, license it. Pay me, and I'll pull my depraved Like A Hole In The Head off LIT, just for you. If a work is almost good enough, commission a rewrite. Does Double Your Fun contain sufficient humiliation? If we're on the right track, make an offer for more like it. Would you like works tending like Randy's Revenge? More are possible.

You may note your shotgun approach here draws criticism. You should focus.

Not sure if I'm following but it if I am, I believe you're missing the point of this thread.

"Read what has been written to find stories and authors that meet your standards." - I'm pretty sure I was quite clear that this isn't my first rodeo and that I have been looking for stories and authors for quite a long time without success. The content I'm after simply isn't written these days. Hence, this post.

"If a work is good enough for you, license it." - Why would I want to license it? If a work is good enough, that's fantastic! And I'd hope it would be available for free so that people could see it. Not sure I get the point in wanting to license anything or wanting to take anything off of Literotica. Just the opposite, I'm hoping that the authors I invest in publish their stories here on Literotica so that others can read it and, ideally, become inspired to write their own similar works.

Meanwhile, I'll take a look at your writing and let you know.
