Thanks again for all your home remedy suggestions over the weekend. I broke down, stayed home from work today and went to the doc- bronchitis (as I suspected) with a probable touch of pneumonia (an added twist!). No wonder I've been feeling so rotten. Round 3 of antibiotics has been started, plus a batch of expectorant pills and narcotic cough medicine to knock me out at night and let me sleep.
I'm a rotten, cranky patient and I know it. Hear me whine sniff and cough. Mostly cough. I'm looking for sympathy and make no apology for this brazen request. Rosebud, where are you? I need a gif!

It's ok, bronchitis and pnuemonia are no fun. You have every right to be cranky, you poor thing. Here, let me fluff your pillow and get you some nice tea.

How was that? I was trying to be my Grandma.

That's okay. I'm a rotten nurse.

Drink the fluids, take the medicine, crawl into your bed and go to sleep. I'll be in in four hours to shine a light in your face to make sure you are awake and breathing and cranky.

Seriously, I hope this all works and you do feel better. Sorry I'm no good with gif's.

Qustion... by gifs do you happen to mean great international fucking sports? Is this a new Olympic event? I wouldn't recommend it while sick, and could be a tough one to judge.

Since you were so kind as to welcome me to the board and encourage me to start posting, I decided that this thread was the perfect opportunity to make my first official post as a registered member. (I made 2 posts as "Longtime Lurker" on the Quotes thread before choosing a user name)

Sure hope you feel better soon Cheyenne!

Thanks!

I'm back for a bit. Naps do wonders, even if taken sitting up.

Kitten Eyes, you'll make a great grandma some day.

CreamyLady- you really could be a nurse in real life. But thanks for checking on me any way.

Merelan, laughing is not good when it makes you cough harder. Ouch. But I like the new sport the for next Olympics! Maybe we could work out and perfect a point system by then, we have 4 years to practice!

Thanks for the hug, Nicole. It always helps, you know.

BrainyBeauty- I like the new name :), and thanks for the good wishes. Stick around and join in- hope you'll feel right at home. Just stay away from me for awhile yet- don't want to breathe on you and pass this crap on.

Thanks for the smiles, everyone.

Killermuffin, your grandmother sounds like my mother, is it possible that we're related?

Cheyenne, as I have permanent bronchitis I can sympathize, there isn't a winter that's passed without that warm, snotlike fluid in my lungs becoming a breeding ground for bacteria.

Remember, if you start to cough up anything red or brown tell your doctor so he or she can up your 'botics. Expectorate; spit and never swallow, even if you're lying in bed. You'll further weaken your system. At this point, you should be drinking a gallon of water a day - literally. Your body is getting rib of more fluids in order to clean your system so you need to drink more..

And what the heck are you doing up? Pneumonia can land you in the emergency room if you're not careful. Get your butt to bed.

Me, too. I usually get this crap at least once a year. This is just early in the season for me.

Spit and not swallow? But swallowing comes naturally to me! ;) Seriously, I have never been good at the "expectorate" step.

Yes, mahm. I am off to "bed" (my lazy boy chair) right now. Just took my cough medicine so I should be woozy soon.
Good night!

Hey Cheyenne, you teach me how to use that thing that came with my checkbook.
I'll teach you how to hock a loogie.
Is it a deal?

Let's see if this works...

Nice rose animation. If that's what you were trying to post, it worked.

If on the other hand you were trying to post a nekkid pikcher of Rosebud, then you need to try again. :p

To bad we can't post aromas as well, sounds like there are several members who could benefit from a touch of aromatherapy.

On second thought, maybe it's agood thing we can't. I don't think I could stomach the smels trolls would post.

Oh damn! I was trying to post one of the Chippendales.

(I'm kidding, that would only make her sicker.)

hey babe sorry I wasn't paying attention to the board over the past few days ... sure hope you're recovering - love me!

Thanks, everyone. I'm still coughing, so I'm out another day from work. I'm fine if I don't talk, but that is impossible in the office. And besides, I'm getting used to these afternoon naps. The narcotic cough medicine is kind of fun, too! Close your eyes one minute and next thing you know you wake up 6 hours later.

Never- sounds like a deal to me. Teaching you will be the easier of the tasks though.

Kitten Eyes, very cool rose! Thank you! My favorite flower, too. Next to daises.

Weird Harold- making me laugh makes me cough. Bad boy.

Golden, thanks! I sent you email earlier.

Coughing is good for you. It's the bodies way of getting rid of the mucus buildup. (assuming that it's not "dry" coughs which are painful and don't accomplish anything.)

I'll try not to be too clever though. I've done that laugh lost in a coughing fit routine myself.
