This is going to be a bit all over the place.
i remember that the human character was on a ship with sentient AI when they find a female vampire. the human is currently male, but was female a short time ago.
The AI had various programs setup to pleasure her pilot, but they're ruined by the gender shift.
The vampires left earth shortly before the human was born, and haven't had human blood since then.
She tries some of the human's blood, but the nanites that have kept the human alive for so long disagree with her.
