I'm looking for a series that I started ages ago, then lost the link.
I think the story was in the Scifi/fantasy section. Young adults are are allowed a few years of exploring their sexuality. Then, in one night, everyone of a certain age is connected to a computer which tests their preferences in partners and is assigned their most compatible prospective mate. There are rumors that some people fail the testing and disappear. One day shortly after the testing, the main character receives a panicked call from a friend that wasn't assigned a mate, and the friend is being hunted to be "disappeared".
Unfortunately, that was all the further I read at the time, and really want to read it.
