Story of husband and wife. I think maybe the husband is a teacher but I don't remember for sure. Anyway a player sees wife and is determined to have her. He works on the wife for a time and eventually the wife cheats with the player. Husband finds out and eventually confronts wife. There was some sort of threat from the player. Maybe blackmail about the affair getting out. Not sure of the details of the threat but to protect himself the husband demands that wife help incriminate the player in some sort of way and maybe plants a recorder on her so when she meets the player at a restaurant it will record. The player either catches on or simply refuses to be coerced or blackmailed. So eventually the wife makes date with player and she picks him up in her car. She is driving. She stops on a railroad tracks seconds before a train comes. The crash kills both the wife and the player instantly. In the end wife had a life insurance policy with husband as beneficiary. She somehow staged the accident so it didn't look like suicide, i.e. it looked like an accident. She did it because she loved her husband and since he refused to reconcile she wanted him to have the money and considered her life over without her husband.
After her death the wife's family, who made harsh judgments about the husband and never much liked him, was angry that the husband got the whole life insurance payout. They bad-mouthed him to each other, to him and in public. The husband was tempted to tell the family wife cheated but decided not to. Instead he just took the money and moved away.
