You sigh contentedly to yourself. It's the perfect night for a stroll up to the bluff, which is where you have decided to spend the evening stargazing. There's not a cloud in the sky, and even from here, you can see all the stars twinkling above. The full moon shines brightly enough that you have no trouble making your way along the path.

The path winds slowly around the bluff, and you have plenty of time to enjoy the pure, fresh smell of the outdoors. You continue your stroll, and you catch what you think is a dark shape moving in your periphery. You glance to your left, but see nothing, as though you were only imagining things.

As you reach your destination, you stop dead in your tracks. In front of you is the largest wolf you've ever seen. He gazes directly at you with intelligent eyes of brightly glowing amber. Most wolves exude a sense of wariness as it makes a split-second decision between fight or flight; this one is unintimidated by your presence. A sense of awe washes over you; you are in his domain now.
