Hi, I'm looking for some ideas for my first story for literotica. I was told to come here, but I don't know how any of this stuff really works. I'm a new comer to literotica. I've read many of the stories with my partner but, reading them and writing them are two VERY different things.
My biggest problem is coming up with a story line, I have no problems really with the sex scences, just the story. Weird huh? usually the story just kinda goes with it, but not in my case.
I've been writing for several years, since about eighth grade. That was when I first wrote a story with a sex scene, and all my friends loved it! They thought I should continue on writing more stories like it. Well, I stopped writing about a year ago, and it seems I've lost my imagination, which is weird. I've written many many things, I've even had two of my poems published in a couple of poetry books. One when I was a freshmen the other was when I was a junior, but I stoped trying after that. Now I'm 19 years old, and can't come up with a story line. The only thing I know for sure is the name of my main charachter, though it's pointless with out a story huh.
So if anyone is willing to help me out with some ideas, please I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely:

mother/son fantasies

Well, I always enjoy a good mother/son fantasy. These usually have the mom seducing the son, but I enjoy it much better if the son is trying to secude his mom. She is resistant, trys to be the adult and do the right thing, is turned on by the idea but has mixed emotions.

A nice long sensual build up is usually nice.

You definelty have writer's block. I think you are trying to make it too complicated for your first story. I think your first story should be easy and hopefully it gets easier and easier after that. By easy I mean you should kind of cheat a little bit by enhancing a sexual experience you have already had yourself or a favorite fantasy of yours. Surely you have had a hot sex scene you can embelish on, changing the names to protect the innocent or the not so innocent. Maybe someone else has told you of a fantasy of theirs that you thought was hot. Write about something you are passionate about instead of trying to come up with a story you know nothing about.

What Sub said. Honestly this is not a great literature site this is a sex story site that sometimes has plot. ;)

My first story on here was a true story about my first time. Granted my first time is alot more interesting than most, it doesn't really matter. If you had a romantic first time jumped into the backseat and did it to get it over with and find out what all the fuss is about, however it happened the readers will want to know. ;)

Most seem quite happy with a story that starts out stripping or already fucking and never explains why these two are together, sometimes more. Basically, just sex stories are fine, a plot and such are Ok too but no need to drive yourself up the wall either. :catroar:

Here's a good way, well it worked for me. For a week, or a few days... write a diary. Just write down everything you did at the end of the day, no matter how boring or what. Then read it the next day. If you can think of a different way to say you did something, make it sound better, do it. Its a five day thing, and sometimes it'll break that block and even get your imagination working... hoo nose? Welcome to Lit, Spunky... hope you enjoy your stay!

The key to opening writer's block is to open your mind. There are story plots all around you. I get mine from newspapers articles, stories I hear, random thoughts and conversations, Vidio Games, Rydia's AV :p - everywhere.

Just look around you. There are a thousand stories waiting to be written.

I usually start a story by thinking of a place. What could happen there? Who would it happen too? Why were they there? From that point, the story writes itself.

I join Jenny Jackson in saying that there are stories to be written from every possible situation. Start with yourself: what are your hobbies, what do you do for a living, where do you live, etc.

Start with things you already know, so you don't have to do (a lot of) research and have the possibility of getting things wrong. Write down a synopsis of your story: main idea, maybe some names or situations and work them out into larger bits and pieces and tie them together to form a coherent story.

Re-read your own work after you think you're done and correct it in every meaning of the word; check for spelling and grammatical errors, as well as flaws in the storytelling and inconcistancies.

After you've done all this and a lot more (because I'm just another writer and I'm not all-knowing) you're done! Pour yourself a nice cold one and post your story, or let an editor or someone else besides yourself read your story before posting it.

I'm the opposite. I have a lot of ideas and plot lines but isn't motivated enough to write past the first paragraph. They're mostly inspired from scenes I used to roleplay. I can't remember off the top of my head what they are, but I'd be more than happy to share once they popped into my head.

It also seems like you're working in the wrong direction. It's easier to come up with the character descriptions after a general theme is set up, rather than building a world around particular characters.

My 2 cents' worth

I agree with Subwannabe that you could do worse than starting with a fantasy that appeals to you or an actual experience of yours.
But maybe you feel "blocked" because you have this desire to send a masterful story out to the 'Literotica' world and you're nervous about the response (how will it be received?).
Why not write (at least initially), just for your partner?
Tell him you want to write a story as a gift for him and ask what fantasy(s) he would like included.
Think of it as a personal experience just between the two of you - you never know, it may offer some new discoveries while you're at it.

Here's an outline that perhaps will help...

1) Introduce the characters and how they meet (something they have in common or different)
2) Find some conflict or unfulfilled need
3) Resolve that conflict or need

That reminds me, how are you doing on your story?
I hope I gave you enough ideas to start.
I'll think up some more for you.

That is a very personal view. There are a number of writers who take a single character (or a small group thereof) and set that character up, then weave plots round what might happen to them.

The immediate examples which come to mind are William in the Richmael Crompton books, W. E. Johns' Biggles, George MacDonald Fraser's Flashman in a more adult series, and of course, the whole genre of detective stories from Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes to Sarah Paretsky's V.I.Warshawski.

New Idea

Here is a new Story Idea. I have no idea how to write it but here is the story line.

I mother and daughter are home alone and a man breaks in to rape them. He tells them that he wants them to masturbate ijn front of each other. When they refuse he tells them one of them is going to be raped in the ass. The whoever masturbates themself to cum first be will spare the other from the ass rape. So each trying to protect the other masturbate trying to cum first so she will be raped and to protect the other.

The rapist o course has lied and he rapes both of there assholes after makeing them do all sorts of nasty things to each other.

I great mother daughter rape story.

Write away.

Do what I do when I get writers block.

Stare at Jenny's AV for an hour. If you can't get inspired by that...

OK I'm running for cover now. :D

Thanks again

Again I want to thank you all, I'm starting to be able to think more openly now, my brain is starting to think like a writer. Keep em' coming, its great, you are all helping me out alot.
It was suggested that I use some of my real experiences, well not that they haven't been awesome, because they have. But I'm looking into finding another female to bring into the bedroom. Except I don't really have any idea what to do once I get her there. My partner has been telling me for as long as I can remember to bring home another girl...so maybe, just maybe, I will. I think that I might be able to use that for a scene in the story. Do you think It will work?? A guy dreaming of having two girls, getting a front row seat to the show, a real show, not some porno?? Who knows, maybe it will work maybe it won't.
Just an idea.

Well, that's one idea you could work out: fantasize about a threesome with two women, including your own. The great thing about writing fiction is that anything can happen, it's only limited by your own fantasy.

I might be able to offer a couple story ideas involving a more experienced woman (or two) seducing the male character. If you'd be interested in writing about anything along those lines, PM me and I could offer some suggestions. Good luck.

Long rambling ahead.

I've once written a lengthy post in the Dutch section, about the way I write and how I get my ideas, create my storylines, etc. Here's a shortened translation of that post:

Some stories are written purely for the sex in it, so called 'wanking stories'. I don't work like that and let me tell you how I do work (maybe you'll find some handy tips for yourself):

a story never just happens, I usually get a good idea from anything that happens around me and in my head (I have quite a large imagination when it comes to sex/porn). I write down my initial idea and think of the bigger storylines around them. Most details come when I'm writing the story (usually done in 1 session). When I'm finished, I re-read my work and correct it where necessary. Sometimes you need to put a story or storyidea aside for a while, because inspiration runs low.
Try to stay away from historic, technic or medic topics, unless you have studied or work in one of those fields, as the require a lot of research.

What I think is important for a story is in the first place the subject: choose something you can write about or pretend to know something about it; don't try a subject that's unknown to you, you will fail utterly.
Second the tempo of the story is important: even when in 99% of the stories the final goal is to insert body part 1 into body part 2, it's not the purpose of your story, it's only a goal to reach (and maybe not even that). Some stories are like short porn clips found everywhere: they put you right in the middle of a sex scene, without an introduction nor story whatsoever (if existing). A good story however, is like a top quality movie combined with a top quality porn movie: a great story, nice sets and dressing, combined with superb sex, everything well written.

Write about things YOU like, after all it's your story; I write stories because I have no sex life but a healthy interest in human sexuality in all its facets and forms. Not two people share exactly the same taste, same goes with porn/sex/erotica.

Even when the story itself is really good, bad spelling and grammar can still kill your story. Always run a spelling and grammar checker and don't forget to re-read your writing at all times. Also re-read to see if the story goes smoothly, no weird sentences or wrong word choices.

Try to get ahead of critics and read some of the 'How To'-stories on Literotica, there are several that can really help you become a better writer.

Finally: don't forget to enjoy writing and keep on learning, you're never too old for that.
