Hey what's goin on...I'm 22...I recently moved to DC from Chicago...I grew up and went to college in Chicago....
I'm 5'9''/10'''...short black messy hair... brown eyes....describing myself online is a little odd...so maybe a pic would do the trick...I have one if you're interested...
I'm a gentleman and passionate about my goals....I'm laid back...I love music and movies...
I think that's a pretty good start....

The Only Two People In DC

Hey....from the looks of it, I think we're the only two sexy people in DC at the moment...hahaha
The words you used to describe someone you'd be interested in are words I would use to describe myself...
So if you're well read...what's the last book you read or are reading?
Right now i'm trying to finish Kite Runner...before the movie comes out...a great book btw....
what are you studying in grad school?

dang... hope that isn't a complaint Bare

lots of 'dudes' in DC - true enough... but isn't that cause for celebration? 'Babes' like yourself have plenty of choices

they're either gay, shallow assholes, self important, republicans, or a combination of all.

...dang

sounds like you need a change of venue there Bare;
NW is an easy target for that kind of generalization :caning:

...it's also a great city to get a good case of the HIV of the Herp in.

yum! that certainly makes me wanna get out there and fuck all the people in every other quadrant of the city, doesnt it?

not bitter - just honest.

not only are most people in DC one dimensional and only really interested in furthering their career, but if you've picked up a paper recently, you know how much VD is going around the entire city.

Now that obviously doesn't apply to everyone, but it's hard to deny that DC isn't full of pricks of both genders

Dc

Well that makes me seriously rethink meeting people here....I think i'll stay away from the stds....

F- that!

listen -
James - don't let Bare poison the honestly clean intention of your thread;
her oddly hypocritical posts are not a real testimony of the fun that DC has to offer -
be sane, be careful & this town is an incredibly rich place to find great people!
I've lived in town since '84, dated through until '95 when I met & fell in love w/ my wife, married & now have a family living here. I've traveled around the world extensively both as a tourist & professionally & still find DC to be one of the best places to meet real people.
Know yourself & find true people... easy to do if you're honest in kind.
Good luck & have fun.

meh some people love DC
and more power to 'em. someone has to live here.

But to say this place has more to offer than, say new york or san francisco or berlin is bunk.

people here are power hungry. Does it change the older you get and the more used to it you are? of course.

there are great people here, there are just considerably more assholes (of both genders) than there are genuine and worthwhile people.

that's my experience here, but the most important thing is to stay safe because it is a dirty, dirty town.

Whats wrong with "furthering their career"? Most would consider that a good thing.

I live in Maryland, just about 30 minutes away from DC, and I love going down there (by metro) and just chilling out for the day. There's amazing clubs, venues, resturants, and attractions down there. Not to mention the historical aspect of it.

because to me, networking solely to improve your own job title, is a sad way to live.

"how can you help me?" not "how are ya?"

Sure, DC's got great history, decent restaurants (restaurant week starts the 14th!), decent public transport, and a few bars worth sitting at for hours.

but in the terms of great american cities where you meet all types of people interacting together, I just don't see it here.

but on the up side, if i want to sit in a park during lunch, i can watch many homeless people pee on trees.

I don't hate DC by any means, I just wish that more people who lived here would open their eyes to the very problems that exists in DC that many of them are employed to fix on a national level...if that makes sense.
