Looking for opinions(and votes)

Hello Lit members. I posted my first story a while back and while I am very happy with the response I have gotten so far I wonder why the vote total is so low. Not the scores, I've received a 4.65 so far, but the percentage of people viewing who actually vote. With almost 9500 views I have only 34 votes. I need 16 more to even qualify for contests. Any help? My Lit name is Belegon and the story is "A Pleasant Surprise" in the "First Time" catagory.

Hello again. Your votes vs. reads is the norm. It's common to think that the reads don't necessarily mean the whole piece was read through, i.e., back button syndrome. Can't think of the names but check out other threads here and you'll see your query is nearly daily. Stick around.

I love San Francisco too. I was just there last week. I'm glad to know that my numbers are not unusual. I'm sure some of the more serious readers may have been put off by my somehow not catching the misspelling in the title. Part two of that story will be up soon. I just read your poem about the fog and russian voices tonight. Enjoyed it very much.
