I believe the term was actually coined in the show "Mad About You..." Paul Reiser thought it was a good idea, talked Helen Hunt into one day, then SHE became the "nooner" fiend, and wore him out ;-)

Nooner, the term is a lot older than any 70's or 80's sitcom, I remember the older guys using is in the 60's and they probably heard it from the guys at the pool hall in the 50's or 40's.

Then there's a "morner" which is like a nooner only a little earlier in the day.

Yep Darkroom, you're right, the term goes back a ways.. and the def of a "morner" is "... like a nooner, but SOONER!"
