Hello! I’m looking for a collaborator to help me fine tune several sections of dialogue for a novella I’m writing. In this case, I’m looking for a married woman to help provide some realism or at least some plausibility to several exchanges between a husband and wife.
I’ve been writing erotica since the pandemic, primarily as a creative outlet. I’ve often found that in many stories, the suspension of disbelief is just too great. I’m left thinking “no woman would say/do that after that lame pickup line.” In those kinds of scenarios I just can’t get past the trope-like exposition and don’t enjoy the story overall.
So, I started writing short stories and novellas of my own that focus more on the psychological elements of getting characters from point A to point B. I try and make sure I’m providing insights and motivations behind “why would my character do this or that”. Granted its erotica and there will always be a need for suspension of disbelief, but I’d still like to make the leap as short as I can.
Why would you volunteer to help? I think my story is decent and the approach of injecting some vague realism elevates it and you might enjoy participating in that. Additionally, this story is strictly for private consumption and if you wanted to use the idea, dialogue or anything produced as a result of this collaboration, then it’s yours to use however you see fit. My only request in this regard would be to ask you to change character names.
If you’re agreeable, I’ll provide a synopsis of the story and the dialogue as it exists and then it’s just a matter of going back and forth a few times. If the story doesn’t pique your interest, once you’ve read the synopsis, you certainly reserve the right to decline. No harm, no foul.
