Now,
If we look back at the fictional as well as non-fictional portrayal of a so-called Lolita, we find that said Lolita will eventually bring ruin to the man who makes her the object of his affection.
I think this is both true in real life and in literature. Certainly in Nabokov's book, the obsession with Lolita only causes his eventual insanity. And if we look at real life, well, who among us remembers Amy Fisher, the Long Island Lolita? That episode had almost deadly consequences for the Joey Buttafuco's (gotta love that name - it's so descriptive of the type of person he was) wife.
So given that an infatuation with a Lolita will bring ruin, why would anyone want one? That's the real question here ....
