I’ve been reading artisticbiguy for a while and I’m absolutely in love with his pieces. They’ve been a major influence on my recently.
I love the way he handles gay romance. It’s sensitive and full of the awkward way men often have to let go of gender norms / masculinity to expose themselves fully.
I love the grounded, realistic characters who feel real. Like I could meet them in real life. They’re messy, awkward, flawed - and that makes them endearing. Eg the love interest Dave in How to Say I Love You is irritable, awkward, taciturn - but still lovable.
I think the physiques are diverse and spot on - okay yes most of them are hairy musclemen but I like hairy musclemen. Still, each character stands out eg the protag of The Yule Log has a goatee.
And of course he really knows how to write a realistic gay fucking. The foreplay, the preparation, the physical details are all fantastic and grounded.
The only problem is that he hasn’t published in close fo 20 years. So I need some more fuel haha.
Does anyone have story recs?
